On my mot last year i had advisory's for the following

Nearside front macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment [2.5.A.1c]
Offside front macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment [2.5.A.1c]

Offside front suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement [2.4.G.3]

My understanding is the first 2 are front suspension top mounts? whats the 3rd one? expensive fix?

Many thanks

Yep, the first two are top mounts, fairly easy fix and not too expensive for parts. The third one is one of the two bushes on the suspension arm that is about to fail. Again, not a difficult or expensive fix, although I don't know whether you might look towards replacing all four at the same time (two per side).

You might find a garage will want to just replace the whole arm rather than mess about with bushes, the price for a new arm compares well against the extra labour cost of replacing the bush.

Not on cast arms unfortunately, they are twice the price of pressed on the other leon variants
Look in my wishbone guide for part numbers and prices for OE and poly

Gillingham Dorset.
Iv just had my car fail on the offside front lower suspension arm rubber bush and just ordered mine from euro car parts for £38 delivered and should be here today!
I'm doing mine Saturday and doing a how to guide for here at the same time!
I was quoted £93+ vat for the part alone from kwik s**t !
So no it shouldn't cost the earth for a good garage to fit it!

Yep, agree with that, I get the impression the cast arms are also a nightmare to find in the first place!

I didn't know what the OP had so I kind of went with the fact that most Leon's use pressed arms which are cheap.

Goo, I see you are in Hampshire. My garages are also in Hampshire - Whitchurch and Enham Alamein. If you would like to PM me your registrationnumber I can work out a quote for you to replace the top mounts & bush. As above it might be cheapeast to replace the whole lower arm, rather than just the bush.

Thanks for all the replies guys,

think what il do is get the following

LCR top mount 1ML412331 £22.55
LCR top bearing 1J0412249 £5.40
LCR top threaded bush 1H0412365A £1.75
LCR top nut N90353604 65p

with regards to the front suspension arm rubber bush is it worth getting powerflex bushes or just go with the following.

LCR wishbone inc bushes - left 1ML407151 £115
LCR wishbone inc bushes - right 1ML407152 £115

is that all the parts i will need to give to a garage for them to do the job?

Many thanks

Personally as they're advisories rather than failures, and there is no rush for them, I'd suggest doing some research into best combinations of bushes. I believe there is an OEM and TT combination that is well respected and inexpensive. Personally I went for powerflex but I don't have the luxury of LCR performance!

Top mounts are top mounts, so you're pretty safe with what you have there. However, unless I'm very much mistaken, those items come in a complete kit for both sides, which might be cheaper than buying the items separately.

Might be worth you asking the garage you're going to use to quote for the parts in case they can get them cheaper - they might not, but worth a try?
Also if you supply the parts the garage won't warrant the parts, so if you happen to get the wrong one (easily done) or have a sub-standard one you could be stuck with paying for the part twice.

I will be getting the work done at works garage so as long as i know in my head what the price of parts are and parts i need then il see how much cheaper i can get them and go from there.

il see about the top mounts if they can be got as a set.

thanks all :)
