was a nice drive out, got on some good twisty roads and the bezza is unbelievably good at swallowing up bumps and holes in the road. was lovely to drive. and not to bad of an engine note!

just came in from putting a coat of wax on the boot as i have had the reflector strip off to clean the bulb casings and to get some new bulbs. though may as well get some protection on there while i can.

gunna leave detailing now till next year. just keep topping up my wax for winter!!

unless a certain detailing friend of mine lets me have use of his garage . . . .

let me know what you think about the pics people!

ha no not next few, just spread it out over that winter.

u wax my car , i wax yours lol

a bit of da action on it with a finishing compound and i will be happy with it.

then its a case of some supernatural, AG HD and a dab of best of show:drool:

i would get more pride out of seeing the evo with a dripping wet look than my beasty bezza

dont worry man my hands of pure carnooba will recoup your effort!

Cant believe I have missed this thread.

Car is looking good mate!! Dont see many of them in that colour.

What is the exact product you used for cleaning the engine bay?? I really need to do mine at some point, probably next year. And your chassis legs are in very good condition, no rust or anything on them.

thanks craig:thumbup:

well i used two products, first i got the thick stuff off with wonder wheels (hydrochloric acid) using a detailing brush and then i sprayed the entire bay and bonnet with diluted truck wash!
left it for about 10 mins and power washed it down. on the plastics i used some valet pro trim glitz

RESULT!

Nice detail! Shame about the scratches and stuff on the paintwork. A friend of mine has an S reg Polo which has scratches and paint fade on it aswell :p
Before I read that one of your plans was vinyl wrapping I was already thinking about it. Would be a good idea to wrap the bonnet and perhaps the roof if it looked good, but I'd do the bonnet first.

Also, if you're not buying alloys it might be worth taking the hubcaps off and putting some better wheel trims on, or just leaving the bare steelies on, but spray them black. That's what my friend's done with his Polo. He also stickerbombed his entire back window (pretty much) but with random stickers.

Don't know if you're a fan of stickers but they're always a good thing to do if you're not spending big money on mods like coilies or other insurance-affecting things!

Good job so far though, and good idea spraying the badge black, already improves the look of the car!

EDIT: Or you could smash some DIY window tints in seeing as you have a 5 door. More tinting that way :p
Just thought as well; if you're vinyl wrapping the bonnet/roof in black wrap then a blue/black theme would be appropriate for your car, in my opinion.

It really is a shame about the bonnet, because your car really would look class! Im sure, a bit of vinyl will sort that out.. And your car would look so much better with some ibiza alloys and cupra bumpers :) :) Look at Arun's ibiza for inspiration :) BTW, love the colour of your car.. I bet it looks the dogs when its in the sunlight :)

Why thank you! yea i want to do so much, but insurance companys will rape my wallet till it bleeds if i do any 'real' mods.

ive got some diy tint film he he.

and mate of mine is trying to source some HID's which will look amazing! hopefully

the vinyl will be a next month job maybe. its just finding time for it tbh. and johns idea about the cupra bumpers, also jordans thoughts lol, is a good one. think i would get away with that this year. just colour matching and getting them sprayed is gune be a fiddle

can wait for next spring to completely detail it and will be calling upon the help of smart repair nutter to get out the scratches and chips.

so for time being its guna be saving money for rolls of wrap for the car and sourcing some bumpers!

Everyone starts standard at one point mate!
I remember when my Mk.4 was standard and got like zero reception because it wasn't a cupra pulling 300+hp!
Still though, it's a work in progress and I'll be following this thread to see what you do with the car. Have you ever considered a new back box? Gives the car a different sound which isn't too over-the-top and since it's only the very rear section of the exhaust it doesn't need to be claimed iirc. Also looks a bit better than the standard pea shooter that all cars come equipped with!

well in that case im pleased with how people have welcomed ma pride and joy

i need to find a good place to source scrap ibizas and just have a good old rummage!

but on the subject of exhausts:
went for drink with a mate last night and on the way back following him down some b roads i had the realization that if im hammering over 2000w directly into my ears from my stereo and i could still clearly hear every note popping out his exhaust,:wtf:, then i need more power! so i think that instead of getting a back box i might just get another amp and some HIDs lol

pea shooter will do for time being, well . . . . will have to do for time being

Car looks great mate, real shame about the bonnet and dings though! :( I bet it's nearly impossible for you to find replacement parts in the right color on the scrapheaps, as this color seems VERY rare!

Got my Ibiza as a first car as well, and it's just as badly scratched as yours in some places(Except mine has pre-facelift bumpers, so no paint to crack after dings). I recognise the way you treat your car as I do with mine lol, everyone I know thinks I'm nuts spending so much time and money on the old girl, but they're really good and lovely cars in my opinion. Just don't fold it around a lamppost eh, like most 'first cars' get written off.

Again, I love your car, color looks great(one of the best colors on Ibiza's in my opnion). But it would look even better on coilies and rims.... White rims :p

Subscribed to your tread :)
