Morning fellas - My car is a completely standard 140pd - In all honesty my car is running absolutely fine so far but I've bought one of these gaskets from Dave @ Seres to fit as Im assuming, although I have to stuttering symptoms, by fitting it the engine should run a lot cleaner due to the reduced amount of dirty exhaust and increased amount of nice clean air running throuhg the engine?

Is my theory correct? or am I likely to experience any issues? Also, what effect does this have on the emissions levels come MOT time? Would of thought that by reducing the EGR Valve flow it would increase emissions...

Cheers

Its on a very slight decrease in Flow so it wont affect MOT, MOT For diesels is done on smoke not emiisions

Thanks Andrew - Fitted the gasket this afternoon - had a short 10 min drive home and have noticed certainly no adverse effects - going for a proper drive later so will see if i can notice any improvements. Not expecting to notice anything though if im honest, but be nice to knwo the engine is runnign cleaner and maybe get a slight increased mpg as a result.

Well, been for a decent drive this eve and can definately notice a slight improvement on the car. It runs smoother on tick over and picks up slightly quicker from stand still and when burrying the throttle on the move. I'm not talking a massive improvement, but certainly a noticeable gain in responsiveness. Will have to wait and see how many miles I get to my next tank of fuel. This tank has done me 415 so far and is telling me iv got about 30 left.

550 - 600!!! I dont drive it hard at all, all I can put it down to is the fact that I live and work in Milton Keynes and evcerywhere is short bursts upto about 60-70 then stopping again between roundabouts. Not really had a long motorway run since owning the car, but reckon it'd easily achieve 50+.

Andrew - What sort of mpg you getting around MK?

Is that around town mate? Pretty sure a cupra will be averageing less then 32-34 around town...

Just to work and back and that is mostly 60mph roads.

Going to work is all down hill and coming back is all up hill lol. Its the uphill that kills me!

lol - so you work hard coasting down hill to build it up, then all your hard work is wiped out on the way home.

I've just ordered a can of Forte, will pop that in when it arrives. I've heard nothing but good things about this stuff on various forums so will see if it gives me any improvements.

I thought modern engines used more fuel coasting in neutral than they did in gear?

Obviously diesels have loads more compression and engine braking so not sure how it would compare.

I used to use millers but stopped as since removing the DPF dont feel any benefit.
