So what are they saying, if your 40+ you have to drive a Toyota Corolla and stop enjoying driving cars. This must mean my Grandad has been going through a mid life crisis since his 20's and must still be now at 70 as he's had nothing but quick cars.
Right, cars he's owned that i can remember (under 40 to now, 70).
- Pug 205 GTI
- Honda CRX VTEC
- Toyota MR2
- Honda Civic VTI
- VW Golf VR6
- Honda Integra Type R
- VW Golf GTI Turbo
- Toyota Corolla 1.6 (his "I was being sensible" car )
- Honda Civic Type R (his "I really didn't like that Corolla", back to the norm' car)
- Vauxhall Corsa VXR (this is his last car, lifetime 100,000mile warranty swayed him)

So don't bother about what others say, if you try to calm it down you'll only become bored and have wasted your money. It's not a mid life crisis if you love cars. I will never change no matter how old I get and neither has my Grandad (despite trying)!

well said! I did try growing up once- i got married . . . A vastly over rated exercise imho! Trouble is, I think I've turned my gf into a petrol head . . She had a 1.0 106 when we met, only had this Leon for a year and she's now looking at Cupra R's! :D

I was 22 when I got my mk1 Leon SE, had that four years, then got a mk1 LCR 225..had that 4 years, still enjoying it. Everyone tells me that I drive a family car...why do people see the two extra doors and immediately think "Family"?

I see "practical". They’re good looking cars, would be interesting to know what these people drive themselves….maybe not a car that is as good. Everyone mocks it being a SEAT too…little do they know that everything is VW / Audi.

Some people just won’t entertain your true words of wisdom, they’ll dismiss them, and you, like an empty packet of crisps, content with themselves that their opinion is right and all that is mighty…
