Look at the end of my cupra thread, just fitted new discs and pads to the rear :)

Cheers mate, did get it looking nice but shoulda kept it on the first set of bbs tbh and left it haha

Scott just read your thread, have you got partnumbers couldnt see any on there :/ any troubles taking off the stock discs ?

Is it simply just a case of unbolt rebolt on FR TDI calipers ? Thank you

Just go on eBay and search for 232mm seat Ibiza rear discs, or something to that effect, then seat Ibiza rear brake pads and thatl be you sorted, just check your car is on the list of cars they fit. Both parts just replace the standard parts, nothing else needs changing or modifying.

These seem like a bargain http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MK4-Golf-Drilled-Grooved-Rear-232mm-Solid-Discs-Pads-/300571382226?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45fb7351d2

Never heard of Mintex though :/ any body have any thoughts ? It says that these are "single layer brakes" does anybody know if these will be suitable for my Ibiza FR ? 232 is the standard size but these are for a mk4 golf (i know its VAG group just checking) :)

thanks

Just an update - went for the above discs + pads as cant really grumble at that price for drilled and slotted rotors. Will let you know how they perform

Mintex are quite well known so you shouldn't have any issues with them.

I did the same upgrade as Vroomtshh for what its worth. 2nd hand set of calipers and carriers off an LCR, and new OEM discs and pads from Eurocarparts. As said, they fill the wheel a bit better :D They haven't started to fall apart yet either which the solid discs are prone to doing on an Ibiza.

My original rear discs needed replacing after less than 7000miles as they were just corroded to hell. The Tarox ones I had after that didn't fare much better which is another reason why I went 256mm. Plus with Tarox front discs and Ferodo pads on the front I thought it would help balance things out slightly. Previously it was quite unstable under heavy braking but now the back end doesn't wiggle about so much.

Took delivery of the mintex rear rotors / pads today. Looking forward to getting them on ! Just need to get some caliper slide grease and dig my rewind tool out of the garage. I'm abit worried about the screw of rusting which holds the discs though.

I’m going to try pick up some handbrake release springs as suggested by darkhorse to try and relieve my rear brakes rubbing. If I cant source them I’ll just try cleaning the callipers and greasing. I couldn’t find a link on briskoda to the calliper return spring 

Here is a pic for you, must say the quality is better than I expected for £60 with pads and delivery included !
