Cheers Phil,

Are you talking about the headlight covers 'proper' (on the outside, to protect the headlight units from stones etc.?). If you still have these and want to send them to me that would be much appreciated .

I was referring to the covers on the back of the light units, which you access from under the bonnet when you need to change the bulbs etc. Of these, it's only the driver's side cover I'm missing, the passenger one was with the bits you gave me.

Standard seats have now been replaced with leather Recaros from an Audi S3.

The Phantom boost gauge has been changed for a Glowshift item, as it matches the existing instruments a bit better, and is much easier to read when illuminated

dribble... love S3 seats

Great car there aswel mate

Cheers. I was hoping to get some R32 seats for it, but they cost about three times as much as these, and TBH the S3 seats are seriously comfortable and I am very happy with them. Now I need to get hold of another set for the Octavia [B)]

Looking good mate mine is now sold
Thanks mate. Phil was lamenting the sale of your car as he now misses his (mine) even more

Physically, the seats are a straight swap. Electrically, things are a bit more complicated. At the moment I have them wired to a 12v supply from the cigarette lighter socket, just so I can adjust them. I now need to source the correct looms and switches so I can also get the seat airbags re-connected and get the seat heaters working.

Failed the MOT due to a fluid leak from the NSF damper :thumbd:

Oh well, I'd always planned on replacing the nasty FK coilovers with a set of Bilsteins, so this seemed like the ideal opportunity... except that there doesn't appear to be any stock of the Bilstein kit anywhere, so the car is now likely to be off the road until the middle of May

I know I could have KWs or Weitecs fitted, but I've always promised myself Bilsteins, so I just have to wait.

Whilst I am waiting for my Bilsteins to arrive, I thought I could sort the badging how I've been meaning to for ages. So, I painted front and rear 'S' badges in platinum, and added red 'SEAT Sport' decals. At the same time, I painted the centre grille surround in black.

I then thought I may as well give it a good clean, which resulted in me feeling even more p!ssed-off that I can't drive it

My new coilovers got caught-up in a falling-out between Bilstein in Germany and their UK distributor, so rather than the car being off the road for a couple of weeks it was nearly 3 months  However, thanks to Simon at Formula One for sorting me out a good price for the coilovers, and for JKM for fitting them and setting them up, I am finally back on the road with a nice shiney set of Bilstein B14s :D

I haven't had the chance to test the new suspensoin properly yet, but I am very glad that those FKs are where they should be - in the bin.
