Rolling road day was a good one! Class day, caught up with some mates and made some new ones (in person) plenty of banter and mint crack. Couldnt ask for any more! (except flames and better results maybe!)

The cupra went on the rollers and was pretty disappointing except that it sounded good, no flames and down 10hp and 10ftlbs from last time (on the same rollers) can only guess it was down to the maf, g/s readings wernt as high as they used to be on the old maf before it went pop and since fitting the new maf the g/s readings seem to be getting better according to the scan gauge. Already looking forward to the next rr day!

Few pics from the actual day and little shoot we had afterwards:

Also fitted standard airbox and filter again, quite enjoying the quietness of the turbo now and getting to hear the exhaust more! Just want to be able to drive to work and be able to listen to music at a reasonable volume rather than loads of whistling and dumping. Maybe im getting old before my time? haha

Definitely! Just turn the music up! :D or if you're really that bothered, drive more frugally lol

Lol Damo, took me a couple of mins to get used to the clutch in the ed30! Junction on a hill wasn't the best start! That's the good thing with the vr6 clutch, it's just as light as standard.

And honestly Rich, the car feels much much better with the oe airbox back on, even with the standard paper filter! Got a couple of ideas up my sleeve but just no money currently haha

Plugged vagcom in tonight and had a fault still from the maf sensor that was on the ecu, maf readings too low or something, so cleared that and also cleared all the dodgy abs codes you get from going on the rollers!

Also found a thread on here that tells you how to make the power assisted steering heavier. Think it's a problem with the ibizas that the steering is too light! It's much better now, makes the car feel allot more planted on turn in etc :D

When you say it feels better, do you mean smoother/faster, or just more refined? I can't really go back to the OEM airbox very well with the 80mm MAF. I do have a TDI top half which is the correct size for the MAF, but I need a coupler to connect to the TIP and there's just not enough room to really fit it correctly :( I do love the turbo sounds though, I made some poor guy jump out of his skin the other day lol. I was pulling away from a junction and put my foot down in 2nd gear, changed to 3rd pretty much at peak boost and the chirp and chatter sound made him jump a mile lol, I loved it!

I've read about the power steering too but I've never got round to doing it. Would be a nice free mod to do I guess but I haven't got VagCom so it'll have to wait.

I may be ending up with a motorbike soon anyhow depending on whether or not Dad is allowed to continue riding (health issues), so I'll be able to do bigger mods to my car myself as I'll have alternative transport. First job would be to re-paint my brakes and get a wheel refurb!

It feels miles smoother Lower down the revs and just seems to pick up a little better, get to hear the exhaust allot more too which is nice! Stuck that itg filter on my mates r56 mini, sounds class!

Yeh I think that's what I fancy doing if I go bigger turbo, using the diesel top half of the airbox. I guess if you really wanted to go fr it you'd just have to shorten the turbo intake pipe? But I know you like the noise of open cone (as do I but not at the mo haha) think I've cut about 15mm off the tip so I could fit that itg filter in the engine bay lol still connects to the airbox no bother.

Motorbike sounds good, my lass won't let me ever get a bike and I think it's probs for the best, don't think I'd last very long on one lol

And Steve, nowt interesting really happening anytime soon mate, going to calm down with expensive mods and do some thinking and saving, see what job situation is like and then when it's safe and if I keep the car I'll probs go crackers on it next year lol no point selling it when it's had sonmuch time effort and money spent on it already haha just got couple of ideas for the air intake.

C/F air intake :) ? There is a C/F system for the 1.4 which is just over £300.00!!!

I guess you have a variety of choice when it comes to engine components for the 1.8T.

I might have passed the info somewhere when reading but what is the current performance figures for your Ibiza? Who cares if its down 10hp, it looks AMAZING :D

Cheers Lloyd :D much appreciate that from you :) no carbon intake for me :( haha made 245hp 273ftlbs 212whp but then last weekend made 236hp 265ftlbs 209whp, both on same dyno too! Had some faults on the ecu though and had just fitted a new maf sensor as the other one died, they are my excuses anyway :p haha

And yeh helmsley road is class, will have another go soon lol
