clutch release bearing

Hi all

I'm having a bit trouble with my car at the moment. There is a bit of a rumble from the engine when i'm driving, and it's getting worse when i'm driving on the motorway.(and higher speeds general)

The thing is my dealer where i bought it, says it the wheels that makes the rumble...(michelin PS2)... and i probably would disapear if it threw the wintertyres on!

Did it today...and....the rumble is still there... If i drive along on the motorway and presses the clucth down and releases the speeder, the sound stops!..

Could it be the clutch release bearing? At last service, I complained over a hard clucth when driving fast at longer distances and a sticky gearbox... they then changed the hydraulic oil, and sticky gearbox i solved...but the clutch is still hard, when i'm driving fast at longere distances! May'be the problem is "connected"?

Any suggestions??

Could the clutch seem hard just because your clutch leg has relaxed on the motorway journey?

No not at all....it can appear on a 10-15 miles motorway trip....at about 80-85 mph.

It can also appear if it get some juice, many hard acceleration... but it's most likely on the motorway.

well what mileage are you on mate??

my one has done 63000 and was fine but just h=ad clutch uprated and the release bearing was dry and made a squeaky sound when stripped although i dont think you'd hear it in the cab of the car

or could be clutch wearing when mine was changed it seemed much softer and easier to use, or build up your leg muscles

I'm at 45000 km, the deal is that the car has 4 month full warranty, so they just have to fix it! But they dont seems so willing to fix when they have to pay it!

They rumble is not that loud, but it is there, and the fact of that it' was not there when I picked it up from the dealer makes me want them to fix it.

"build up your leg muscles"...haha...it's not too hard, but is strange, cause it was not like that when i picked it up!...

Haha...the conclusion might be..."You ruined it"...Hell no!!...haha

well get on to them about it and keep moaning or take it to a seat specialist and then make the garage where you brought the car pay for it

That was actually my plan, as they also missed the repainting part (front of the car had a bunch of BAD chips)

about the repainted I had to get SMC Denmark into the case, and boy, suddenly they could do ANYTHING.

May'be I have to get them into this case too....

I think the clutch always goes heavy when you drive on the motorway as the car goes into a sort of cruising trance whereby the clutch is not required.

With regards to the noise, definitely sounds like a clutch release bearing.
When you start the car up, does it tinker around the revs a little when idoling and can you hear small grumbles? Then as soon as you depress the clutch all seems well again?

Will be either the release bearing or some sore of joint around the release bearing.

Bad news is that you will have to take out the gearbox to find out!
