Needs new front wings and more work with the machine but not bad for what's probably it's first polish in 10 years:think:

Don't know if you figured out what the splitter was on the pic on the first page - I'm on my phone so haven't got the time or patience to scan through the pages! Looks suspiciously like the old Ibiza splitter to me, I fitted one to my first car (a Nova!) and it looked very much like that one.

Nice one, looks good! Just needs lowering and wheels now :p

What products did you use?

G3 and some mysterious polish that my mate made up, as for wheels that would probably be a good idea but I can't really go any lower because of where I live. Believe it or not that's a 40mm drop, you should see it next to my neighbours one and her suspension's saggy lol. Needs spacers too, I've got 5mm all round but need like 20mm on the rear, not sure about the front, it'll depend on wether I fit new wheels and what offset they are.:)

Just had a call off the mechy...he's not had chance to do the MOT yet as he's been fitting all the poly bushes and MOT'd the Ibiza (which failed because of the exhaust), but has said it'll be done tomorrow and that he's had to raise the car because he thinks its too unsafe to run like that!

I just said well there was no point because I'm going to be lowering it again!

Ah, I thought for a minute you were being unfaithful to Laura there:D

I feel like it now

This car is such a pain in the f***ing arse.

Had all the poly bushes fitted yesterday/today, brake hose changed and the ARB was adjusted as the drivers side droplink was hitting/catching the brake calliper cause it to be pushed out and requiring me to pump the brakes to get grip again (a few of you may already know about this).

Anyway, ARB was adjusted into the centre, and turns out the adjustable drop links are too wide so now hit both callipers on full lock [:@]

So he's called off the MOT for now and re-booked for Friday. So will be changing the adjustable links for the standard links before then, this is the standard links, as you can see are much thinner so should give some clearance.

The car is now jacked, and being driven round like this

If you really want it that low it's obviously for looks rather than handling so why not just throw the flippin arb in the shed for now? You can fit it later if you want more handling but unless it's an uprated one I can't actually see it doing much as the springs will be that much stiffer anyway, it's probably just being a pita and not much else.:)

^^ I don't see anything wrong with that tbh ^^

No visible arch gaps, and you'll have less problems, probably a better ride and handling?

Noooo.

I think it's just the angle of that picture.

Here's another:

I don't want to bin the little handling I actually have :p

Taking the ARB off is just hassle and would just cost more seeing as the subframe has to come off. I'm definitely not cutting it off cus it's a Whiteline ARB and cost £160 new lol

Don't start on santa now or you'll get me all upset and that:cry:

Sorry :p

Well tonight, I jacked the car up to replace the droplinks with standards. After a little comparing and USING MY BRAIN, I figured out that the drop links had been fitted the wrong way round!!! :censored: Now the guy that fitted them and the garage couldn't figure this out, the garage even had it for a whole day, subframe/wishbones off etc, and I figured it out in half an hour
