Hi all,

Just wanted to say hi from a proud new owner of a Ovni Yellow 2004 Seat Leon Cupra TDI.

Unfortunately I cant post photos until I have 15 posts so will have to wait a wee while :(.

Have a few subtle mods planned for it...

  • Tinted windows
  • LED Rear lights (the all red ones if anyones seen them, cant post the link lol)
  • Smooth rear wiper conversion
  • Mini stub aerial
  • Cat back exhaust, possible oval exhaust, havent decided yet
  • 18/19" Alloys when I get some dollar saved
  • Uprated brakes
  • Remap
  • And replace the awful sat nav upgrade that was put in there :headhurt:

Anyone got any pictures of their Yellow Cupra TDI to show off for ideas as well please? :D

Thanks,

Graham :)

Yeah i know what you mean I keep adding to the list. Its just a stock Cupra TDI at the min but I'll take pictures of the mods once I start doing them.

Does de-catting a diesel not lower the mpg? And does it sound any better?

You'd best add a new clutch/flywheel to that list too, as the map and new exhaust will kill the clutch in short time. (Though others may say that is subjective)

decat will allow it to flow alot better - with a map will give you more torques of course which at cruising speed is more mpgs. itll also sound alot better and allow you to hear the turbo spool up which sounds awesum!

Clutch after a remap will 8 / 10 times pop, depending on age, how its used etc. mine was old and i was warey of it - but as soon as mine was done I popped the clutch showing off to a porka, then that was done and I went for a play on the country roads and blew 3 coil packs in one hit!

Before a remap you need to really make sure everything is 100% sorted - word of warning!

ah right cool cheers for the info. i think i may leave the re-map to be honest as i cant really afford an uprated clutch and flywheel. To be fair its pretty quick and tourqy enough.

So far priced these up (Most of it from Revolution247.com as theyre near me)...
Miltek De-cat non resonated exhuast (twin 3" exit) £600 fitted
HIDS: £103.76
18" RS6 Alloys with Tyres fitted: £600
V-Maxx Coilovers fitted: £544
Tints: £165 (full car incl sun strip)
NX509e with sub (already owned) fitted for £600

Still yet to decide on the rear lights, i found some all red led lights from ultimatestyling dot com which look pretty nice, not over the top or owt. Still unable to post links yet, BOOOOO!!!

Also debating on wether to save up for a complete re-spray back to its original ovni yellow. Not sure how much it'll cost yet though

If your confident, do the fitting yourself. The coilovers and sub for example (I wouldnt reccomend trying to fit your own tyres unless your the offspring of superman) can be a pain in the hole, but usually straight forward enough to do yourself. Of course if you arent confident in your abilities, and in no way is that a pop at you, some people know cars others dont its not a bad thing, then your better off payign for a pro to do it.

yeh im not the most confident when it comes to working on cars. i managed to fit a new aerial and the fabia wiper conversion but i reckon thats as far as my abilities go lol
