i think thats the problem if alot of cars are down on power. at badger 5 bill puts 3 massive fans almost touching the bumper to get the best out of the car. these fans are very cold, tbh thats poor of the company you went to if they havnt got the fans set up correctly. the liquid gauge isnt very accurate for bhp readings but it wont be miles out

You can see on the last picture of mine on the rollers, its literally just stopped running (brake lights on) and not a fan in sight:shrug:. As I say looks like the coilovers will have to wait so i can get my hands on a copy of vagcom and dig out the SPS I got with the car for some map tweaking. Then hopefully get some better figures later in the year. Doubt I'll put the car back on PD Tunings rollers, just dont want to get on some happy rollers and make daft figures (realistic will do nicely).

Dude, don't get caught up with bhp figures. If you used a different RR and it said 280hp, would it really make any difference? Your car would still drive the same. It's all just flannel anyway. Mines got 3.4hp more than yours etc etc.

I've had a look at my history and my car was RR at AWSOME in 2009 and produced 260.1hp. This was before the 3" DP, race cat, miltek and JABBA map tweak.... which tells me "not to look to much into todays figures." As I said in the other threat, I agree PD's setup was pap. That cooling fan was too small and looked over the hill! I wont go be putting my lcr on these rollers again (and possible no other rollers).

Thanks for putting the pics up tho, and sorry for jacking your RR threat with my rant haha. GET COILI'S!!!! Make you car handle better rather than going for an extra 5hp than you can't even use half the time on the roads. That's my 2p worth ;)

I know what you mean about chasing figures mate but I just want to make sure the cars running right and theres no underlining problems with the motor. I'm all for handling mods, thats why I've done the braces and arbs. I used to have a 106 gti and that was like a go-kart in the twisties.

Have a look at the boost leak tester i posted a link to in the North East section.

It was good meeting you today and being able to get a comparison with a similar car instead of all the Golfs that were running.

Dont underestimate the power of the tyre gel :) Its a really good finisher and a cleaned car just doesnt have the same look (obviously) as one without any. Looking good as always. In terms of your figures, does seem low - well the BHP one anyway) but if you have a liquid guage, then you should be able to get some airflow readings, right? As I think thats a good indication of power on the road (from what I have read). Like Zeap has said though - if you were happy with it before knowing the figures, then theres no need to get down on it.

Cheers mate, 221 was the last mass airflow reading I did. I cant remember the calculation but I'm sure that puts it above 260bhp.

221 divided by 0.8 makes it around 276bhp on the road :)

Sorry to hi jack this but i always log g/s using vagcom and have found it to be very accurate with roling roads.i think your run should of been done in 4th gear to get more load:)

Hey mate don't worry to much prob been setup with Revo stage 2 but not setup properly or needs adjusting after all your good engine work :D i emailed JKM after mine was done and got this really helpful setup info might be useful to you all you need is the revo sps controller and you can adjust it yourself or take it in somewhere for some road testing

My rolling road at AMD was done in 4th not been done since revo went on and map change from AMD to Revo

Your car as per every REVO car that has adjustable software settings (as not all of the do) has been set up by JKM following actual road testing and data logging of various engine parameters, whilst allowing for some overhead which is very important.

We set the REVO settings for you, so that you do not need to purchase an SPS – the setting up is part of what you pay for within the REVO price.

Your cars REVO settings are Boost 7 and Timing 5.

The settings for the REVO code are decided upon after analysing a combination of data channels, including:

Boost pressure (Comparing the Requested against the Actual value) and looking at the N75 duty cycle, i.e how hard the turbo is being worked to make the requested and actual levels meet up. Alongside this, the Ignition timing under full load is assessed, along with Air Fuel ratio and Air temperature – specifically for their influence on ignition retard correction.

We will set the Revo ignition timing setting to ensure that the ECU’s knock correction is not excessive. You can plug in an SPS and increase the Revo timing number but all that the ECU will do is increase the ignition ‘correction value’ which is not good, as you will often feel that the car is not as smooth sitting on large correction values - and this is certainly not the way to tune

I would be cautious suggesting that you increase the Revo boost setting further, as in our experience the LCR K04 turbo is not the most reliable when being pushed hard/aggressive for prolonged time periods – if you set the boost to say 9 for the most aggressive tune, you would need to accept that the life of the turbo may well reduce rapidly as we have seen happen on other LCR’s.

You can purchase an SPS device, however you will need to become competent with data logging, and correctly loading the car up on the road - in order to ensure that the data logs you will be making and the modifications to the REVO settings are correct and accurate.

Hmmm Dyno Dynamics rolling road, others might disagree but I personally do not rate these rollers, I've had massively inconsistent results from them in the past, their best avoided if u ask me.

I agree, there's no way I can get 260hp on awsomegti rollers... then fit a 3" d/p, sports cat and full miltek followed by mao tweak to suit and be 2hp down!

Infact, I want my money back!

You should stick to the same rollers for measuring the gains from different modes.

This is what I've done with mine. Same rollers, 5 times (so far).

I wouldn't worry about it too much mate. I'm sure she's making more power with those mods or it's a boost leak. Or c**p rollers.

Thanks mate, cheers for the info. Think I might try another dyno in the near future and then maybes have a go at tweaking the settings.
