I've been toying with the idea of getting some carbon vinyl but I know for a fact I won't be able to get it "perfect" so I'll just keep starting again until I have none left and a job not done, I know it!

Yeah, i'm a bit rediculous with stuff having to be perfect lol. Vinyled the bottom part of the facscia under the climate part as a practice and the carbon stuff is soo much easier to use than the gloss black stuff i have. Hopefully this will mean i will get it looking oem for the above part.

Aye, i took the vinyl off the front badge cos it had a bubble in it lol!

Tbh i think it looks a bit tacky lol, but it's a change i suppose. Think next time i will spray it with plasti-kote.

I actually think it looks good. I wasn't sure it would.

I'm thinking of removing my carbon and painting it already. Too many bits lifting at edges

I've tried the matt black plasti-kote paint on my rear cup holder because you can buy a new one for about £3, and the finish is very good, so think i'll try gloss black spraying next time. Also got another idea i want to try with it, but could potentially end up being expensive to remedy if i make a mess of it!

Got busy doing a few wee bits and pieces on the car today

Lamin-x for the front fogs. Tried to do the side repeaters but this stuff is too thick to go round tight corners so kept peeling off

Gloss Black grill surround

Removed the vinyl on the radio surround. Had started to crumple at the corners, i think due to the warm weather recently while the car was parked. Think i'll paint it white the next time, the white grew on me as the days went by.

I'm the same with the carbon wrap. I thought my dash and b pillars were perfect. And now they are all starting to crinkle at the corners. Think it's just the way it goes. It's poor really for the cost of it

Well i just bought the cheap stuff tbh, not paying the money for 3m when i pretty much knew i would end up taking it off not long after. Plus it makes a mess when trimming all the bits off, all over my bedroom carpet - infact my dogs just ate a bit

Aye the lamin-x is too thick to fold round the tight corners of the side repeaters, it just ends up curling back out again Shame as the of cuts ended up in the bin which i did'nt like doing as it's so expensive for what it is!!

yeah i found the laminx too thick too, not worth the money imo, sticky as hell but would rather pay a few quid for tint film

Forgot to put on here that i managed to get the water leak sorted a while ago now. Turned out there was a grommet underneath the car that had came loose. I suspect i caused this damage myself by blasting the powerwash at it though

Pretty sure I'll be the only 1.2 there this year. I'm happier to watch than go down the strip.

So over the last few days i have been sound deadening my car, done the entire floor plan, spare wheel well, sides of the boot, load area and behind the rear quarter panels with self adhesive bitumen with foil backing. I have to say, the difference is very noticable, there is still road noise but it's acceptable and no where near as loud as the 'roar' that used to be there more a hum in the background. Still going to do the doors at the front and any other bits i think could be done. Downside of this is that i can hear the doorseals creaking now Any way of sorting this?
