THS FR3 Engine mounts are now fitted! WOW What a difference

I Previously had a Neuspeed Torque insert fitted ( Bargain @ about £35) which made a little difference to pulling off (Positive) but also made the car vibrate like hell (i preferred it felt more motorsport)

Today the Neuspeed was removed along with both top Engine mounts and Dog bone Mount, Replaced with the THS Kit. I Was really nervous because i had images of the car vibrating that much that it wasn’t drive able, We turned the keys and started it, Could hear the car vibrating from the outside  but then i got in and well to my shock it wasn’t vibrating as much as it used to. Straight away when i pulled off i could tell something was different, The car doesn't feel slack anymore, Before go to pull off and it would feel like the engine was moving but car wasn't. Where as now it feels Awesome! Gets to my first straight and puts foot down and now the car just pulls! where was before it would kinda think about it for a second or two and then pull.

IMHO Any MK2 Leon Owner (Petrol or Diesel) should fit this KIT

Cheers mate the car is completely different now! It feels like its got a bigger turbo and another Map! As soon as foot goes down it pulls now, Hasn’t wheel spun at all yet either, Which is strange because everybody ive spoke to says Solider Engine mounts = Wheelspin

I want to do some 1/4 Mile runs now to see if it has made a difference to them

If i was you John id go in work tomorrow and get them ordered :D

So what can i say?? it was a B1tch to remove the old one! New one went on in about 10 mins! No warning lights so far! I went for a 20 minute drive, Mixed driving some town and some very hard driving, It seems to have cured the PD170 Stuttering problem i had, The old Reducer Gasket Reduced the Stuttering but i couldn’t get it to stutter at all this afternoon!

Tools i used:
T30 Torx
T50 Torx
13 Spanner

Thanks to Darkside Developments for the kit, Ive spent the last few weeks speaking to the boys at Darkside, Their customer service is top notch and im looking forward to working with them on some other 2.0 16v TDI Parts now

Updates

Last thursday fitted the W-ALK Kit (Whiteline Anti Lift kit) with the help of a VAG Technician, would of been alot easier with a set of ramps, Also did a Brake fluid change and put Motul RBF660 Fluid in.

Old VS New

Quick review of the Kit, it feels well made and the improvements to the car feel possitive, Can feel a difference when you corner, when you go to power out of the corner it feels more stable now, in the dry it launches a hell of a lot better now and i feel better 1/4 mile times will now be achieved. In the wet The THS FR3 Engine mounts + W-ALK now make it wheel spin more

Im also friends with some of the STR BTCC Team including both Grid girls, so to show my support to Tom Boardman and Dave Newsham

STR (Special Tuning Racing) Mirror stickers (Just like on Boardmans car)
