Ha ha, think i need to invest in some decent cleaning stuff. Looked at getting iron x the other day but figured it would arrive in time for me to do this, so made do with fairy liquid lol. Is tardis better than AG tar remover?

Going to do the last wheel arch tomorrow then get onto washing and claying the car.

Tardis is easier to use than the AG stuff and a good bit cheaper.
Iron x is my new favourite thing. But only on cars that are kinda neglected. Regularly
Clayed cars don't benefit 'as' much.

If you want to make a start to polishing tomorrow, my job has called off so I'm not busy. You can let me know

Saw iron x being used on wheels that are caked in brake dust, looks fun when it turns purple lol.

Will give you a shout, probably not start on the car again until about 12 so might take up the rest of the day getting it ready.

Ok today i was off work so decided to clean the under the wheel archs. Took me bloody ages and still got one to do, 6.5 hours all in so far! Here is what my rear wheel arch looks like now

Definatley the worst cleaning job on the car, fingers are sore from all the scrubbing!

Ok, got the car machine polished today thanks to Gary (vroomtshh). Was really good to see all the light scuffs and scratches totally removed from the paintwork. Car looks really good now, just needs lowered

Could'nt not get a beading photo with all this crap weather we've been having!!

Ha ha, i know. Most important thing is that i'm happy that all the wee defects have been sorted (even if nobody else can see them ). My mum wants to know how much you'll take for her car, 'there's a few scratches on my car, maybe he could come and do mine?' I'll look into the cost of a polisher and convince them to buy it and i'll do their car lol.

Yeh you need some decent photos with a better light source. Try the multi storey car park in Irvine at night. Or under the mall.

Ha ha, you can set the suspension to lower quite a bit for easy access, usually gets me 3/4 the way ha ha.

You kidding, unless i want some junkie stab me with a needle or hi-jack my car, i'll give it a miss lol. Nah just joking, might try that some time, maybe this weekend.

True story, I remember seeing a thread on Detailing World where a guy spent weeks and about £30k polishing a white Astra VXR, pointless, if it had been black then I could see the point, white never shines unless you are standing looking at it.

I see your point - re the lighting, there are a few things I'd like to try with Scott's VRS and Ross's Ibiza when it comes to lighting and and photos but it work require it to be dark, just get dark enough during the summer.
Basically a photo of each car taking in pretty much total darkness and the car would be "painted" in using a flash gun with a filter on so that there are no flash marks.

I done it before with my mums car...

Wasn't pleased with the outcome, I can do better!


Re the crazy Astra guy I'll have a look for the thread, I'm sure he bought or certainly had a tub of polish that cost about £28k...
