I had a trackday today and before I reached the venue the EPC, Traction control light and eventually the engine light went on :(

Got back home connected VAGCOM and got a load of errors which I've listed below. Can someone kindly help me with diagnosing the problems listed below.

Some info:
MAF is around 6 Months old and bought that from Eurocar parts. This problem initially started last night when I went to fuel the car. The EPC and TC light went on so I swapped the MAF sensor with one from my Octavia vRS. Everything was fine until when I reached the venue the lights on the dashboard lit up.

Check the wiring and connector to the throttle body and do a throttle body alignment in VAG-COM.

On my car I have an 80MM TB that I bought from Issam a couple of years ago which has been fine until I got the car remapped from MRC and they mentioned that at one point there was water from the Alcohol injection that had gotten into the Motor. Apparently at time they left it to dry over night and ever since its been a couple of months till today, Fingers crossed.

I check the wiring and connector tomorrow.

Could you kindly give me instructions on how to align the TB, thanks.

Hey Indy
The ABS and MAF errors can be linked.
Firstly I'd fit a new OEM MAF, hopefully this will sort out these codes.

As Rob said above for the throttle for confirmation all well with it

Thanks Willie, read the replies on this thread and I went down to the stealer's this morning and placed an order for a new MAF.

contact rsmith for what his faults were with his tbody and wmi ingress

Thanks Bill I'll drop rsmith a PM and will also check the wiring to the TB.
I am now considering changing my K&N filter for a Jetex filter. Please let me know if you recommend a different filter.
I think the oily nature of the K&N filter has knackered the MAF sensor.

Does the car drive ok? These faults are generally linked to a wiring issue or the ecu is on its way out and isn't sending the correct voltage to the tb, lambda or maf.

Hey Alex,
The problem's intermittent for a few seconds I can boost away, car drives fine, then all of sudden the car will go in limp mode. I can repeat this process after a stop start.

If the ECU is on its way out can that spoil the MAF and Lambda?

Both the MAF sensor's, one I switched with from the Skoda and the previous one on the Seat are knackered, All this with in a day. What I don't understand is how comes 2 MAF sensors got knackered so quickly. The MAF's are the Bosch ones from Eurocar parts and only 6 months old, has anyone ever reported problems with them?

There is prob nothing wrong with the mafs. Just the wiring which could just be a bad earth or corrosion on the ecu plug. I would look at that first.

These TB are the same errors I had when there was water/meth ingress to the TB, it was also accompanied by a really lumpy idle and limp mode, I could get away with driving the car but only on very lite part throttle any more and it hit limp mode.
Check my Readers Ride, I got a mounting plate made to sit between the TB and inlet manifold, this has stopped ingress in the TB, INA now make these plates.

I'm afraid there is a very good chance your TB in toast, try electrical cleaner and dry it out, after that it looks like you need a new one.

As for the MAF and lambda, I did NOT get these errors from the faulty TB.

Thanks for your reply, I will definitely look at getting the mounting plate as that's a better option of spraying the water meth after the throttle body.
I hope fingers crossed that I don't have to buy a new TB but the symptoms you've described are identical to what was happening to mine. At times If I lifted of the pedal and put the car in neutral it would just turn off/die...seem more like a malfunction of the TB.
