hey dan. did you paint the wheels black after you got the car or did seat do it??? i am getting my new seat ibiza ecomotive in 2 months and when i ordered it, they said the gloss black wheels weren't an option on the ecomotive.

Mikey: I got Seat to paint my wheels for me before i signed up for the car and did not get charged for them thankfully. Really makes the car in my opinion. I have just been out in it today and the car has done 400 miles nearly already and its only a few days old. Just got over half a tank too

Mine was held up for a while, best person to speak to is a dealer.
Just for info I went to my local dealer, then approached dealers on here and the offer was bettered. Worth a PM to canonman for info and possible deals

cheers dan. i am going to try haggle them!!! i think the black wheels just make it look so much smarter. The problem i have as well is i am leasing the car so i cant even modify it or change anything. Hence why i want them done from seat originally.
gm insight - depends what colour you want, for a white seat ibiza its around 2 months but i am sure if you wanted black or another colour you will be able to get it sooner.

I only had like a 10 day wait for my car but the wheels made it a little extra longer you see. They do make it look better but the silver alloys were still quite smart on it in my opinion but black does finish it off

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but it it possible to put alloys on this and get rid of the thin tyres? Would the MPG be affected a lot??
Yes, it's possible,
MPG would probably drop a smidge due to wider tyres having more rolling resistance but nothing worth loosing sleep/not doing it over

How can you tell if the car has low rolling tyres?
My sister has the Eco, but the tyres seem to be the same as my 1.2tsi. They are Dunlop Sport tyres - surely these aren't low rolling? :S

Think thats BS - I had the same size tyres on my suzuki swift (185/60/15) & they dont cost any more than normal - it's just lots of air in them - 42psi i think,
I had alloys put on my MK5 Ibiza eco 1.2 tdi 215/45/16 - still can't get over 60mpg tho
That said, it is very comfy (i'm half considering sourcing some SE seats to replace the Sports seats in mine, as i think im a bit too chubby to fit in them properly)

Nah, challenging myself to slim down to fit better in them
Eventually I fancy getting some from an A4 or similar in there as I miss the lumbar support and like the way the A4 seats have the adjustable front bit for when the seat is lowered fully.
The tyres are just very skinny in comparison. The ones on the MK4 i think are slimmer than the MK5 ones...
