ok so weather was superb and i thought time to try out the kestrel DAS 6 pro....probs the most time ive spent on a particular panel but was 2+ hours worth it....first tried out some combos just to see what worked best, then phoned a detailers for some extra info, and voila. didnt get before pics but the roof certainly had to be the worst panel on the car, and im over the moon with the results, i'd say 80-90% of scratches and swirls are now gone, i will let the pictures do the talking....i went for a combo of, CG hex logic green with menzerna P085RDS 3.02 intensive polish off the top of my head im sure thats right, followed by a CG hex logic orange pad with P085RD final finish and then a coat of AG HD wax.

BANG!!!!

Everytime i see somebody who has detailed their car it makes me want a polisher lol. I thought the paintwork on your car looked really good tbh (apart from the rear bumper and tailgate which you showed me). Honestly don't know what i'm doing to mine, i'm super careful and it still gets more and more swirled every time i go to wax it :(

your car is white it is much worse for us with black cars rf860!

Looks great Scott but no point rushing it did you find it easy or not did you practice on another car first? For some reason I really want to polish like one panel on a few cars that I know literally NEVER get cleaned!

My dad washed his car with washing up liquid and dried it with scabby dirty towel, I nearly cried, he best not touch it after I correct it all!!!

Will order some pads and stuff next week for mine. Typical a friend on facebook offered me one for £90 with pads yesterday!!!

yeh i helped shug wash and wax his white mk5 cupra a couple of weeks ago, soo hard to see what you have waxed and not, wouldnt like to detail white lol, as for my rear bumper, i think i might source a new (2nd hand) one as like said the current one looks a bit dodgy at the corner and the split. also could be doing with getting the boot painted.

nah i get bored doing a full car, but enjoyed doing the roof today just taking my time, and getting it right, im soo chuffed with the difference, like i said there is still a few little scratches here and there but it must be about 80%+ better, will tackle the boot and maybe redo the bonnet tomorrow now i have a better combo :D, hopefully the weather keeps up that i can do 1-2 panels per day

the thing with practising on cars that dont ever get cleaned is your get better results than doing your own car as on the unwashed cars theres more to correct where as doing your own looked after paint theres less to correct.
