Although I don't have the powerflex one (went for the THS one) I can say in my opinion a great mod and very necessary to get the power down better when taking off

Tons of cool progress mate - you definitely got the time and the £££ to spend on her havent you :) Car looks great though - why do all the black ones looks shinier than mine

...Also had the heatshield welded up and no more noise
Sounds a million times better

Just thought on the above - what did you weld and why? Just interested as I'm probably going to order one this week, so just wondering what the problem was... Oh and the Badger induction kit - is it the chrome tipped one or the plastic tipped one? I'm weighing up where to get mine from and its basically straight from Jetex or from Bill...

Keep up the good work mate

I got the rubber/plastic one, the heat shield holds it up perfectly
It was the bolts that hold it together, they snap and then becomes loose and vibrates cold after a while once it heats up it would expand and stop vibrating

I had enough of the car sounding like a tractor on start up so my mate put it on the ramps and welded it up so it wouldn't vibrate
He said the other side would prob need doing in 6 months or so but by that time I hope to have a sports cat or decat:clap:

Confused for a sec - but realised that I thought you were talking about welding the Jabba Heat Shield, but you're on about the cat heat shield - it was the "sounding like a tractor" bit that gave it away :)

Does the Jabba heatshield need anything else to secure the cone? or is the metal enough? Trying to figure out what bits I need to that I can just install it in one go - nothing more annoying when you wnat to so something and you dont have one right tool/part and it stops you finishing it all off! So far I know I need a heatshield, silicone coupler, alloy coupler and about 3 80mm jubilees. Dont think theres anything else right? Oh - and a cone filter :)

Yup that's all is needed mate
Then u just chop the cold feed down a bit or install a new one
The heatshield comes with a threaded bar that goes to a screw hole on the suspension bit then the other hole the shield attaches to is where the cold feed pipe is screwed to
Was a great mod to do and omg the noise you get when you come on boost will make you smile all day

Right all my hoses turned up so will have a go at replacing a few tomorrow
Just ordered a THS fr3 dogbone ( got a great deal from a guy off edition38 ) as this seems to be the best one to go for, can't wait to get it fitted
Also ordered a s3 coolant bottle, bracket and cover. Not sure if I'll just put it in or cover it first
Had a look on carbon modz website but not to sure what to do with it yet
