Methanol Injection Questions

hey there fellow IBIZA owners.

i am in the prosses of rebuilding some parts on my car and i came across water/methanol injection.

i understand the basics and what kits there is out there etc but as im only wanting stage 1 ( without it being mapped in properly ) would this kit be a ok start?

i have also made alterations to the wiring which i think should be nesisary as you can see bellow

the question is with the 150 psi pump what nozzle should i use? or should i trust this seller?

Nozzle size depends on power output
>250 whp= 100ml nozzle
250-350 whp =175ml nozzle
350-475 whp =375ml nozzle

Very interesting mate WMI was going to be one of my next mods and this kit looks very reasonably priced.. the only thing I can say is even some of the more expensive kits have been prone to failure so I would be a bit wary as this one is so cheap.

Last thing you want is to add extra timing to the engine to compensate for the cooler intake charge and then the kit fail on you.. very bad news for the engine

I've got a snow performance stg 2 kit hence where I got the above info from
I'm in the process of fitting it

hmm, whats the point in getting it if your not going too utilize the extra cooling?

well it was only to try to see if it was any good without the advanced timing. it should still make a diffrance but not as much as it would if it was mapped.

plans are GT28RS revo st3 with sps control which would work with stage 1 and a bigger nozzle as the sps at setting 9 would advance the timing?

not 100% sure

but for now im going to get this stage 1 wmi kit

Its more than likely you will be able to add more timing than revo can give as you can run T9 on a revo stage1 with just a good intercooler setup.. A way of doing this is using lemmiwinks or unisettings, but like bill says you will need to be very cautious when doing this and vag-com logs are a must.

If you are going to do it, increase the timeing in very small amounts and then go out and log it to make sure you havent got too much pull back..

It looks like everything is included (bar the tank as you know)

. Pump
. Pipes
. MAP pressure switch
. Non return valve
. Injector nozzle
. Wireing (may need to extend depending on how you want to install it)

I dont think there is anything else needed.. Someone correct me if im wrong

You can use your washer bottle if you want as I've been told methanol mix is ok to be used as screen wash

It will run when you hit the set psi you have set the pressure switch too.. it says it comes set at 10psi

at the mo i have k03s stage 2 all the trimmings, what would it be safe to set boost at with this kit

id say coming in at 10psi would be fine mate
