My Lacquer has started to peel off on roof and round back window has anyone else had this with the yellow ?

im gettin white marks in mine dont know what they are from??

That's what mine had at first all over the roof. I though they was scratches but Was told by guy at local body shop It's the lacquer lifting away from the paint . Now I got 2 big patches missing

Laquer peel, fading and White marks are standard practice on ovni cars.

I'm one of the many who've went down the respray route to fix it

i like that... back in the late 90's my mate had a mustard yellow nova sr with white compomotive mo's on it & that just reminded me of it. i rekon yellow & white go together really well.

How much did you have resprayed and how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking ? Was quoted a grand for roof and pillar next to rear window

im guessing by these white marks were talking about the ones where it looks like theres wax left on but its under the laquer? ive got this problem all over the roof & rear quarter between the side window & tailgate window. is a new paint job the only way out?

when I came to prep my car I found it rubbed down very quick , Seat used a very very light coat of laquer and the paint.... well that was stupidly thin, money saving... shows the quality involved

looking at the age of some of your cars they should still have paintwork warranty i believe.

I spoke to seat about mine and they offered to touch up the affected areas. When I said this was every metal part of the car, they backed off and said there wasn't anything they could do. I couldn't be bothered with the fight to only get a sub standard job anyway

thats understandable really,must be quite pricey to get ovni done properly to the point where it doesnt peel and the paint last longer than 3/4 years.

I paid the best part of 3k. But you get what you pay for. And the painter has guaranteed the paint for 20 years.

I thought it was either 6 or 10 depending on when the car was registered?

to be honest i havent got a clue i just remember someone saying seven on here so i went with that.
