haha!

Money I saved over the last year, from working for my g-pops and uncle, money from student finance, half went to my mum to help her out, the rest for myself :). And then end of last year, it turned out I was eligible for a few bursaries :p

The wheels only cost me £90 though :D

But No more spending, I've spent enough for now lol.

Love these motors so much! This looks a quality one!

Only just saw your reply, cheers man!

Unfortunately, the pictures do the paint work justice! Gave the Beemer a wash the other day and have been practising the art of machine polishing on it. Getting good results on some parts of it but there is simply to many marks, rust spots and paint bubbles.
Oh and also from washing and polishing it I have found that the passenger side front panel has been resprayed with rattle cans and isn't the same shade, and one of the rear arches has been painted, from the looks of it with a brush!?!?

Anyway, here's some pictures before the polishing, and the bad bits! You can see how faded and dull the paint work was!

Rust spots:

Poorly masked previously so overspray on badges and other panels!!!

Once it was polished I applied a coat of Autoglym HD wax. Now that I've got it shiney and protected, I think I'm going to start stripping it down!

Looking good mate.. What a difference after the paint correction has been done.

White is a terrible colour to match up properly. I got the passenger side of my car repaired and painted last year and the paint was mixed using the OEM values/volumes (dont know the correct term) and it is still slightly off compared to the bonnet.

Looks like this is going to be a good project for you.

Cheers Craig.

Like I said pictures actually make it look better than it is! White is an awesome colour but the colour matching is hard!

I am thinking of getting it fully resprayed later on in the year, don't want to pay over a grand though lol, will do it myself if someone lets me borrow their equipment :)

Problem with white paint is that it is one of the shades that changes most with age so that matching it is difficult. I took a five year old peugeot van for a panel spray and to match it to the existing paint the garage actually used a ford colour.

I need to get to work on my mk2 but i CBA until the weather picks up and i've got my new daily drive. So i will probbaly be having this shade problem as it needs a new rear bumper.

Yeah I know what you mean, hence wanting to get it all sprayed, but we'll see!

My uncle knows of a decent sprayer, who charges decent prices, and matches the shades etc by using different lacquer or something like that! lol
