I don't think there is a problem with the Cupra on the insurance data base.
I just did a quote with Admirial for a new Polo GTI with the same 180 TSI engine and it came out a few pounds more then my Cupra insurance.

Hmmm even if it is a mistake, and it goes up next year i'll have to deal with that when the time comes!

Test drive is booked for tomorrow at 12, exited now :)

Finally got around to test driving a Cupra so here goes....

Stunning looking car, one i test drove was red which i didn't particularly like, it had the bi-xenon, panoramic sunroof and leather options on it. Loved all of these, xenons were awsome, along with the sunroof and leather seats which i fell in love with. Cabin was comfortable, good seating position, interior felt well built. Performance was mind blowing i have to say, dsg box is excellent, steering is a little on the light side for me - although responsive. Also the noise from the engine is excellent.

Only downside was that the dealer was offering me at least £2000 less than the value of my car, and there is no chance in hell im letting it go that cheaply.

Overall i think i will be going for a cupra, need to make sure that the price is right though..... Also im thinking yellow :) What is everybody's opinion on this colour?

Good choice mate, cupra is the best all rounder and as for colour, well that is up to you. Yellow is nice but as said not to every ones taste, the speed blue is VERY nice or white. Road noise is pretty loud but I am sure a deceent set of tyres would sort that and seriously above the sound of the engine and some background music you will hardly notice it after a while. Good luck with your decision.

Glad you enjoyed the drive. You will love DSG even more when you get used to the power band and what gear to flick down to manually at what speed for the desired performance.

I don’t notice the road noise too much but as Jason mentioned a different set of tires could sort that. Have a look what brand they were (im guessing Bridgestones, as mine are Pirelli).

Yellow is nice and looks even nicer if you refurb the alloys in a darker colour along with a black roof :D

How much did they want for the red one? Also I hate it when dealers are tight on trade in price. Sell privately you'll get far more money for it.

i didn't ask him the price for the one i test drove, it also had a sunroof which was pretty neat. I did today though venture back to the fiat garage to see what his valuation would be on my car. He said if i were to act quickly within the next 10 cdays - 14 days he would offer me upto £3800!!!! which is certainly what i wanted to hear, just waiting for the Seat dealer to ring now and see if he can better this :)

On another note - my sister and i ventured down to the audi garage to view an a1 s-line. I looked at them and thought they wouldn't be my thing but credit where credit is due, very nice little car. Underpowered in my opinion but it was nice to drive, and probably the best interior of any small car.

Still waiting for the dealer to contact me to, if he doesn't im going to go to another Seat dealership!
