tyrer, its taking ages...i emailed carole at jabbasport to tell her how long i have been waiting and she said on thursday 22nd. We will see eh?

Spacers a good mod bud, make the rear look more squat, plus there is a definate handling difference too. Expensive but good.

INDUCTION KIT

Ok, i bought my new Jabbasport induction kit around 2 months ago now (well before inters, as i intended to test it out proper on the way there etc). But, it never arrived until a few days ago. I wrote a thread on the kit, explaining how a 'custom' heatshiels wasnt very 'custom' at all, as i had to take it to totalVAG to be re-cut. Firstly it wouldnt go in unless i unscrewed the strut brace which was a big no no. So it was re modified.
Maybe you are thinking this was the end of it? well no, once in and connected etc, the hole where the MAF connects to the K & N filter was far too big, (which would have the detrimental effect of not fully sealing the filter. So Greg found a bit of silicon tubing (in blue) which shut it all off. No offence to totalVAG but it sits fine now, but they had to completely re customise it themselves...

Anyway.....the good points!!

Straight away, MUCH more bassier and rumbly in the lower revs- very very meaty. Especially on a cold day or night time it sounds awesome. Am noticing much more 007p noise now, take your foot off the throttle and you get a nice waaaatsssh (noticed moe from the addition of a 80mm flexi pipe CAI). Put your foot right down and you are met with the lovely evo ish growl, than whooshing and VERY VERY loud ssshhhhhing sucking sound, and a massive snarling dumping of air at the end...it is totally and utterly addictive. My friend has recently bought a LCR and he was laughing his ass off! H e just kept asking why it was so loud and snarly and whooshy (as he was lead to believe the 007p was silent) but i have various other mods that may of helped that along tbh. I have to say also, no booming noise on motorway just loud loud rush of air. I have to say i havent noticed any more pull in the mid range either yet.

So if you are in the market for this kit, i would say, your best bet is to get a separate filter, CAI, and the heatshield, and not go for this full kit. As you will save bundles of cash. It is a good bit of kit but expensive and if i had known that i would of bought them all separate. If you have a LCR with a strutbrace please bear in mind it will NOT fit unless you modify the shield, or unscrew the brace.

some piccys

AmD ROLLING ROAD DAY 2010.
281 BHP & 249 LB/FT.

Sorry about the quality.

Went to the RR day today to find out why my car felt so slow, i went with my friend hudson82 who has a LCR too, and we had a rolling start at 60 on the motorway. The intention was to keep it in 6th and see whos had the better torque. Turns out my mate was pulling on me (he has jabba stage 1). I was sure he was in 5th due to how he pulled away on me....needless to say i was expecting my RR result to be pityful.

In the end i got the above result and the worst run was 274 BHP. The torque is very low but shaun from AmD said this makes for a better driving car and how he would prefer it. He also said it was extremely fast, almost 'too fast' for a stage 1 map, so i need to look after it. He added that the original mapper must of played about quite a bit with the original settings. Looking back on the car getting mapped, james from JBS did say he tweaked certain settings cos the car felt good, so now i believe him. Dont think i will gain too much more from stage 2 really, maybe more torque.

Anyway very very happy :p

Just read this through and have a comment about the Jabba heat shield. When buying it, just ask Jabba to make a cut out for the brace as you have the S3 brace. They did this for me at no extra cost. And you can buy the shield on its own for £90 then get a dirty great Jetex from Bill.

Lovely car though mate, looks immaculate!

CAMBELT/WATERPUMP CHANGE.

Well, had my cambelt done today at totalVAG, they said they would give me a discount. But it still came to £390. Had i known it would be that much i would of gone Jabbasport (quote £280) but i thought with the fuel getting up and back would be around the £350 mark which TotalVAG originally quoted. Hindsight eh? Forgot to mention it is just over 5 years old, and 37k miles.

Anyway, the belt is now changed. My mind can now rest. I asked for the belt back (so to inspect it) and i have to say how disappointed iam in booking it in a panic. I knew i was short of cash this month, so was going to wait till March. Iam not joking, the belt is like new. Smells new, if you run your finger over the sides its still sharpish, no fraying or any sort. Would of done another year or 2. But tbh i still had no idea if there was any slack in it????Maybe there was, maybe not.

Car feels so tight its unreal. Dont think due to cambelt, just that, i drove my friends 53 plate LCR up to TotalVAG and he has 55k miles on it. My car still feels like new, no wonder it made 281bhp on AmDs rollers. Not just me who has noticed this, other LCR drivers and non LCR drivers too. Anyway glad to get the big one out the way, even though it was still good for 2 more years!!!

Some bad pictures, but you get the idea.
