i have two faults code now wich befor i had 4 after fitting a new maf witch i thought would fix this it has not

the fault codes are

16487 P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ High Input

17840 P1432 Sec.Air Inj.Valve Open

now the last one could be because i have not got a n114 valve on at all or a plug on it not even a resitor the wires have just been cut and taped up and tucked away
would this efect things like the above code mabie

any help at all on this would be grate ,just trying to shed some light

also the traction control light is on but not the eml and it failed the mot yetaday just on high emissions and it will not drive right as it will not let you drive it hard and hit big boost it just kinnda stutters

Did you retype the fault codes, or did you copy them? As I dont think i've seen
16487 P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ High Input

Before...

The first would suggest the MAF maybe faulty, get vagcom to log the MAF readings.

no lambda adaptions is likely with the solenoids disconnected!

ok bill so if i plug both the solenoid valves back in and just leave them elecricly pluged in it may help

funny you should say that mike at jabba said he had never seen 16487 P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ High Inputbefor,it has i brand new maf on it after i had seen them codes thought it may have been a maf so stuck one on just to be sure

ALSO i noticed last nite you know when you just leave the ignition on you can here the throttle body wine....lineing its self up and usualy this dos not take long,i stud listning to it waiting for it to stop for a good 20min last nite dos this meen that the tb needs aligning and could this be down to the to much air input code, and befor any one say are you sure that noise is not the elec water pump in the front top of the grill no it is not as i disconcted it just to make sure

Just googled that error code, and found a few response's
From : http://www.obd-codes.com/p0103

What does that mean?Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow High (MAF) sensor or circuit. A more technical description would be that the MAF circuit had higher than expected voltage (air flow). Other MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0100, P0101, P0102, and P0104.

SymptomsYou will likely not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a general decrease in power or sluggishness.

CausesA code P0103 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
The MAF sensor may be damaged
The vehicle computer may be faulty (very rare)
Possible SolutionsThe simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:

Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.
Inspect for any air leaks near the MAF sensor.
Take the MAF out and clean it using a spray cleaner such as brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. Be gentle with the sensor.
Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information)
Replace the MAF sensor.

I've never seen that before though, I wonder if its different ECU models, with slightly different config.

Get a resistor.

Log it.

Post back. :)

so far phil it seems that theses 330 10watt resistors have been spikeing my ecu from the start ie why i dont have them on now

go a plug on its way from seat so i can put the n114 back on as i was n249 is pluged in just not the n114 it is just cut wires there at the mo where the n114 should be

is the wiring ok as i had a n75 fault and it turned out to be a broken wire

yea il have to have a good look at the wireing on the n75 as the bloke who was trying to sort this way back when, has i a fiddle with the wires there

I cant see the resistors being your issue as 100's of people have used them for years without issues. But like you say plugging the N112's back in will keep the ECU happy.

Log the MAF and write down what your long term fuel trims are, block 032.

There was a thought that it did it if you had the engine bay open, and the dirvers door open, and left the ignition on. Or something like that, but I think you can also do it through VagCom

iv had this code come up on my car ( p0103) did you ever find the fault. Did you have the problem of not boosting fully.
