jc - it isnt a let down and i do love it as well, i am not comparing to others, the performance is certainly there and i love driving it (I am clearly enthusiastic otherwise i wouldnt be a member) but I just dont like the ideas of augmentations to make something it isnt. Like when people put M badges on stnd 3 series or AMG on their mercs. My philosophy is if its not, dont try to be. If the 1.4 TSI is quiet but packs a decent punch, so be it. To add a speaker just so those who've spent a bit more feel better coz it sounds better than a stnd SC seems a bit daft to me.

I mean if it wasnt stnd but a tuning company made one (as said before) would we all go out and buy one? I reckon we would get blasted. I'm not complaining though (i'm planning the ITG which will change the noise anyway) as it was from the factory...

in the meantime i'll see what kind of deal i can get on this [;)]

TVR hey? Not bad at all and love the sound of them too. Very unpredictable car though from what I have read. I hear what you are saying about the sound generator too. I think it is one of those marmite things about the car. Some will love it, other wont like the cornering fogs issue hahahahahahahhaha

ha! there you go - i love the cornering lights!

no TVR for me sadly. here in cyprus the engine duty is per cc on a tiered system - anything above 2ltr is crazy. e.g a 2.7 boxster is €80,000. An M3 is €110,000. You get a discount on second hand but the TVR will be €30k+. To be honest I am blessed with the power I can achieve from this 1.4.

now you've made me feel bad - oh well, best buy the cupra some OZ's for Christmas 8)

The unit is mounted in the centre of the screen under the plastic scuttle panel, the ECU for it is mounted on the drivers side also under the scuttle.

Thanks for that techie. So I am guessing it is then possible to retro fit this?
