I joke, I loved my TDi Cupra. If I was a sensible person i'd still have it and would be much better off. Its not like my new car has even got me a new woman

Very sure, heard one being operated via the 5051 diagnostic system, it is mounted up by the bulkhead and is controlled via the ecu and will increase with volume with engine rpm & road speed, two reasons its fitted:

Supercharger is fitted close to the bulkhead and quite noisy and secondly the 1.4 engine is not the most sporty sounding engine on the market is it

This post is hilarious, it reminded me of another post from about a week ago. A guy asked a question about covers for your brake calipers, to make them look like brembo calipers. He was universally lampooned for the very idea.

So fake brake callipers = Very bad

Fake engine noise = Cool must have gadget

Could someone explain the difference to me please

to be honest this makes me sad.

i already had a bitter taste in my mouth that I had to cancel my S3 order and buy the Cupra (I'm not being arrogant but I got made redundant so couldnt fulfill my loan, hence I bought the car with what I got for my 1 series and didnt borrow - the smart option) thing is I always felt I was missing out on the Audi/performance.

When I got the Cupra I was chuffed - still getting a decent DSG box, 180bhp, a turbo/sprcharger box of goodies - now I find out the car still is wimpy at the end of the day and it needs a 'speaker' to make it sound butch.

either I have grasped this whole thread wrong or I need to give the car to the missus and get back on pistonheads classifieds....

I think the thing you need to understand is that this car is only a 1.4 and not a 2.0 or 2.3 or 2.5 which can make that noise. Are you seriously telling me the performance of this car is such a let down? I have had the 2 litres and the 2.5 litre big boys and I must admit, I absolutely love this car. So it has a thing in the bulkhead to give it a nice sound once miltek and other retailers have their systems out it will also make a difference. We are also working on a few things that will enable is to put much more power through these engines. Don't count these little pocket rockets out just yet.

I might be barking, but I seem to remember that the Cupra didn't have the 'sound' whereas the Bocanegra did.. something from the old launches & driving the cupra / bocanegra back to back - the cupra didn't sound the same
