1.2 Ibizas come with 232mm front discs as standard, you could probably fit 256mm ones which are standard on some other Mk4s (I think the 1.4s?) without any modification.

I'd personally just buy better discs TBH, Brembo make "MAX" grooved discs for the 1.2s and can be used with standard pads. Should improve braking power in theory. When my Ibiza needs discs in future I think I'll get them. :)

Would calipers have to be upgraded if moved from 232mm to 256mm? (sorry to hijack!!)

Hmm, no idea about the calipers really! The hubs could probably take it... absolutely no idea about the calipers though.

As said though, the difference between 232mm and 256mm brakes is very, very little, I'd just fit uprated 232mm discs personally.

not sure whether to go for brighter light or the blue look....i'm gettin swayed towards more light as that seems a safer idea :)

Well, in terms of halogens, companies generally tint the bulb. So technically brightness is the same, just a different shade. Not like HID's where they burn different temps and change colour depending on that.

I think the Nightbreaker PLUS versions are meant to be good, but those ones that was mentioned earlier in the thread looked nice and white.

Go for HIDs, well worth it and much better than the nightbreakers.
Heres a picture of my FR half way through fitting my HIDs, with Osram Nightbreaker on the left and 6k HID on the right.
