Nice one, cheers RDS :) Had a quick google for them, prices I found showed about US$150 or so in total for those three, guess it isn't a cheap mod as such, good job you got that one on the car when you bought it ;)

good man... deff my next mod

I emailed the lad I bought the car off to see if he could provide any additional information in regards to the intake.

His reply is copied below:

The air intake is off the Golf R32 DSG model. They upped the size of the intake to increase the power to compensate for the automatic gear box slowing the car down. The part is available through your local VW parts desk.

Fitted my HIDs today (H7 55w Pro Max 6000k) I'm very impressed with the amount of light they give off.

The white light has a cleaner look to it then the standard yellow halogens.

This is a comparison between the halogens on the left and the HIDs on the right (apologies for the dirty car) dont think I gave the HIDs enough time to warm up:

Here it is a few hours after completing the job:

:funk:

I was considering ordering new sidelight bulbs as they looked alot more blue then the HIDs like in the first picture, but having looked again I think they go well together!

HIDs look good mate :) And thanks from me also for the info on the R32 intake. I checked it out, to get the most out of it you'd need to have the R32 headlight surround and back cover as well, the air outlet that feeds into the front of the air pipe is much bigger to suit the pipe. Think the three bits can be had for about £45 in total, the R32 airbox is about £70 tho!

I'm planning getting a heatshield (Jabba probably) mainly for something solid to mount my cone into, it's just wedged against the wing just now so if the R32 pipe will fit around that I'll get that too.

That is looking great mate coming on well :D

love the HIDs and good on fitting the R32 intake

So for somebody like me what do i need? a bottom part of an R32 airbox and the R32 intake

or will just the R32 intake fit the standard UK 1.8 box?

The three part numbers RDS gives in the first post on this page (3) get you the pipe, the bit you have to unscrew and lift out behind the passenger headlight to change bulbs, and the black plastic bit that surrounds the back of the headlight. I haven't worked out yet if the actual R32 airbox will drop straight in the place of the LCR one but the US$ price I saw was about $90 so it's not cheap.

If you look on page 2 RDS has modded his standard LCR airbox to fit the bigger pipe.

Mines definatley got the headlight surround as the pipe is a snug fit onto it.

I wouldnt bother with the new airbox mines just been adapted to fit the pipe and works just as well as a replacement box would!

The air feed I had for my cone filter was a cut down version of the R32 intake:

This might work with the heatshield.

You'll need the R32 intake and the black plastic bit that surrounds the back of the headlight for a snug fit otherwise the air feed will just suck air from the engine bay as the end is bigger then the standard one.

In regards to the airbox I would just modify the standard one:

A Word of Warning

The sticky pads supplied with the HIDS are :censored:

I must admit I did have my doubts but honestly thought the pads wouldn't be supplied if they couldn't perform the task they were meant for.

Only 48 hours after fitting the kit and having only used the car once to get to work I left work today and set off home! 30 seconds later I heard a clatter under the bonnet and feared the worst only to then quickly realise what had happened. The ballast attached to the washer bottle had fallen off and slipped further into the engine bay! I immediatley pulled over to retrieve the ballast which at this point had suffered some damage:

P1000678.jpg

Luckily its still working! I wedged it somewhere safe in the engine bay and returned home were using some cable ties have secured it back in place.

I'm still undecided on the best place for this! any ideas are more then welcome!

Having recently seen a Hughes Engineering rear upper strut brace on the for sale section I decided I would get in contact with the man himself and order a new one.

After a couple of weeks wait it arrived Yesterday!

Having quickly consulted the fitting guide (http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=510&Itemid=6) it was fitted this afternoon.

Brace off:

brace on:

To say I'm impressed with the quality of the brace would be an understatement its awesome piece of kit for the price and so easy to fit and remove with no drilling required!

I havent been out in the car since fitting but will be tomorrow and will post comment on it then!

I'll be popping over to the Audi stealers on payday to order my front S3 brace!

:D

Been out in the car today and the rear feels alot more planted:thumbup:

I'm looking forward to fitting the front brace, hopefully the car will turn in alot better once this is fitted!

I've put together a small todo list in regards to handling:

Audi S3 front strut brace - part no. 8L9 805 629A, this will be ordered on payday:D
mk IV R32 front ARB - part no. 1J0 411 305AF
25mm Neuspeed rear ARB - Awesome part no SU-ARB-NEU-GO4C

Hopefully I can get all this sorted before the end of the year!
Once completed I'll be saving hard for a Forge FMIC to get the most out of the stage 2 map!

This is coming along nicely, the R32 intake pipe is a great mod. I'm definitely need to get one of those rear struts, considering the quality of the product and the fact it's made to order they're a bargain.

Get the front strut and ARB's and you'll have a great handling car.

Cant wait for the front brace and ARB's should be great!

Cars looking good mate

Iv also just fitted my rear brace really cool bit of kit i think. For the s3 brace is that part number just from audi, any idea of price

Yes mate its and Audi part, I think there around the £50 mark, dont quote me on that though! The only problem with them is you need to modify it to fit around the bonnet strut. You also need to drill the holes for it but that would be the same with any front upper strut brace.
