Hmm, before I decide I'll make a couple of mock-up photoshops and buy a small piece of carbon vinyl (£2.50) and wrap my phone, and see how it goes. If it's good, then I'll do it :D

Dry matt carbon, or glossy?

Just bought a 100mmx200m 3M Di-noc carbon vinyl sheet. Will trial on my phone and post a pic, then decide what to do. B pillars would perhaps look a bit OTT in vinyl, so not gunna consider that.

Well, the vinyl turned out well, and the phone is looking pretty swish. Only bit I'm not pleased with, is that it's textured and matt, so I will lacquer my phone/different piece of vinyl to see how it turns out.

Other than that, I bought some new cheapy SMD 6 LED sidelights (Cost £2 or so...). Just fitted those, and they are a nice white (very very slightly blue tinted). Obviously not expecting these to last more than 3-4 months, but hey, cheaper than a £20 pair of PIAA ones :D

Insurance all paid up yesterday; down to £1488 :D

Hopefully it'll be down to £800 or so next year, and from then on I'll most likely be at Uni (if I don't drastically fail my A levels....) so will probably keep the beeza.

Here are the sidelights. Sorry for the poor quality.

If the scratches to the screen are bad enough you could try some glass polish (Autoglym glass polish is always in at Halfords) or check out this thread over on Detailing World. The guy seems to know what he's doing!

autoglym glass polish does nothing to remove scratches, it only makes them shiney and bead water better

Right okay, bought 2 of those 60mm buffer pads and 50g of cerium oxide powder. Will use one for my windscreen scratches, and then use the other for experimental polishing (will only use on hidden area/wing mirror caps as a test).

They look like they should do the trick mate! I think according to the Detailing World link you need buff fairly slowly, so don't get carried away with the drill. :)
