Well, small addition today, I ordered my official SeatCupra.net stickers from here. Went for two of the 180mm x 200mm (interior and in white). Didnt want too many, as I really want to keep the car looking as understated and OEM as possible.

They werent that difficult to apply really, thought that it was quite simple really. Was caught between 2 minds about where to place them, either in the 2 small rear winodws or somewhere on the main rear windows. Settled on the main rear windows, as it would look more in line with the lines of the car, what with there being a longer straight edge to align itself next to (if you get what I mean).

You'll probably have to expand the pictures to see it in a bit more detail, but was trying to show how it looked in the context of the whole car. In the main stickers thread they all seem to be quite close, so though that this might be quite useful to have some a bit further out.

Quite happy with them, though maybe the white is a bit too much contrast for me, I was thinking of getting the frosted/etched ones as that would make it a even more discreet. I dont want it be be seen by everyone a mile away, just proud to have something showing my allegance to the site :worship:

Well, thought I'd add some other pics from last week I when she got a good clean, seeing as its been really nice weather and all... First up, a pic of the rear end. Thinking of debadging because the letters are a real pain to clean around, and well, bits get left there when I dont have the time to be really careful

img7503a.jpg

Fully sideways shot. Have to admit that its not one of my favourite angles of the LCR. Something about the up-sloping line from front to back and the profile of the front bumper dont seem right from exactly side on. But hey, you can maybe make out the refurbed front calipers here, I like them nice and shiny, they were a bit embarrasing before.

img7509t.jpg

This next one was taken later on in the day, when the sun is going down (realised that it doesnt actually look that different at all in the photo, but it is, honest!). Its my favourite time to look at the LCR, as when its too sunny, then you can make out the imperfections in the paintwork (And when I say you I mean me really) so its tough to sit back and appreciate how the car looks when you are annoyed and little things :censored: But later in the day, when the sun is moving down, the paintwork reflects less, you see less swirls and the car takes on a much deeper colour. Call me shallow, but its then I really realise that I bought a really really good looking car :)

img7528g.jpg

And finally, in her standard resting place, as far away from other cars which may touch, or even think about kicking up dust against her
img7531.jpg

Well, not a mod as such but hope you anyone reading this likes the pics. I'll put some proper mods on this thread soon, I swear

Looking good matey, get rid of that L E O N badge, it looks much better without. especially on a black car. i took the L E O N badge off of mine a while ago, been meaning to remove the rest of them ever since but havent got around to it.

Keep up the good work.

did you sort your bump out.??

No, not yet... its not a major thing at the moment, but just havent had a time to look into anything about it. Did you manage to get in touch with your mate about possibly doing the bumper for me? There are so many cowboys out there that itd be good to go to someone that I know has done a good job on a MK1 really.

Will def get it done at some point though. How are you liking your new LCR bumpers??? Any trouble with the overhang at the front?

Haha!!! Yeah that was me :) I was on the way to the in-laws in Leavesden, and in the distance I saw a familiar looking shape... So being the fanboy that I am, I booted it a bit to catch up, and lo and behold it was another LCR :) Wasnt trying to push you or anything, not into that, but always nice to see another LCR in the wild...

Well, haven't posted for a while, but well I've had a good excuse really... maybe this counts as a mod??? It is an addition to the car, can well, I made it myself... though lets hope no-one asks for a guide or anything :p

He really does like the ride in there to be honest. I was a bit worried that the stiff suspension was going to keep him awake all the time, seeing as the roads are shite everywhere, but the rumble of the Millitek seems to keep him calm. His fave thing seems to be swinging round a corner (though not stupidly of course!)... He must like the Gs :)

And this is to try and stop all those pesky LCR tailgaitors wanting a race...

But in all seriousness, he doesnt leave me that much money to play with at the end of the day, but trying to save up for bits and bobs... I knew I should have snuck in that remap before he was born... going to be tough to justify that to the missus

Cheers mate, hes been about for a month, and havent really had any time to post up much on the forum, but hes wicked - and I know he loves the car too. Bonus... And have one, you still have a 9 month lead time after you find out - thats should be motivation enough to get all your mods done to a timescale :)

...Milltek Lullaby ...

Haha, never thought of calling it that, but I think it will stick!

Autumn Crap Removal

Well, I haven't been been able to get enough time to clean the car since the my liitle one Josh arrived, so thats been over a month now. Its been bugging me because the weather has been absolutely crap recently, and use back roads to get to work, so she's been covered with crap for ages!!! The wife has noticed the slight exhale of breath and a sigh when looking out the front window :)

But anyway, managed to wrangle some time this weekend just gone, so thought that I would get rid of as much of the autumm dirt and rubbish that had accumulated. Here are some pics of her afterwards...

img8673u.jpg

Its Autumn, gotta get a tree in right?

img8681w.jpg

Finally, clean(ish) wheels. It really annoys me when they are dark. I love the contrast of the light alloys against the black paintwork

img8689l.jpg

Quite impressed with the finish, considering it was a rush job of a couple of hours, just a wash and dry.

img8686f.jpg

This is what I call the scalped-speed-bump-eye-view

img8692z.jpg

Mental note: Must.Clean.Wheel.Arches.One.Day... These next two look a bit different because they are from my phone, not sure why I didnt use the camera but anyway...

imag0139xa.jpg

Probably my fave angle of the LCR to be honest

imag0144n.jpg

Sun came out, so tried to get a silhouette shot. Still not quite sure about the look of the LCR from side on... Guess this is what people see just before we overtake them :p

Ok, sorry for the picture overload. Like I said above, I was quite impressed with the finish after drying, if only because it was a relatively quick wash/dry. I put this down to a couple of months back, when I applied my first layers of AutoGlym Super Resin Polish (SRP) and Extra Gloss Protection (EGP). Now I'm not a super detailer like some of the boys on the forum, but I do what I can in the time I have. I was very impressed with the above combination.

I cant say that I noticed much difference in terms of swirls from the SRP (but it was only applied by hand) and it was similar in the direct sunlight, but when in standard sunlight, I've noticed that the blacks are much deeper, if you get what I mean? And this effect seems to hang about for a while, I guess until the sealant (??)(EGP) breaks down... Still she hasnt the best paint in the world - not sure what the previous owner did to her, but I do what I can, and try to keep her tidy. Us black ones need to be clean to be appreciated fully :)

But basically, for those of you who have black LCRs and are well into detailing, SRP/EGP is a decent middle solution, and I recommend you try it, at least on the flanks of the car, where you can notice the difference most. Now if i could just get a machine polisher....

Well, to be honest, I dont do that much to my LCR. Funds, mechanical skills, and what I actually want from my car dictate what I can do to it. Its never going to be a track beast like some of the other ones on the forum, but I'm just a layperson trying to keep it OEM plus a little bit here and there, and generally trying to keep it in good condition and looking clean (I must be shallow!). But if any of my posts have helped you, happy to oblige

Nice LCR mate! Liking the progress and the enthusiasm you've got for each step of the way.

I've got the same setup with my head-unit with the cable running through a gromet into the glovebox to my ipod classic. As that's quite big and the cable is chunky, it doesn't move around in there at all :) So good to have 10,000 songs on the go!

Look forward to seeing you down AmD on the RR day.
