so 330 should be a good number to aim at with our setup, and torque wise im after 330 as well :) we shell see what our different mappers can do :)

I will be aiming for 330, not sure about torque though as I am still on the standard clutch which should be very intersting to say the least. TBO I would say your engine will achieve better results due to the full rebuild.

Also because we can rev higher with the new rods we should see good bhp, torque * rpm / 5252 = bhp, so you can figure out the possibilities from there.

When I get my southbend clutch I will get another tweak to the map.

Forget peak torque and bhp figures, what your looking for is sustained torque over a large rev range.
Check out my RR hybrid print out here.

One really important mod for these hybrids that made 10bhp and big difference in spool and torque was a 3 inch tip. Forget the forge and samco silicon tip, thier bores are too small. 330bhp is big turbo territtory and you won't see any decent big turbo install sucking through a 2 inch pipe, your maff and air filter are 80mm for a reason.

Thats a cracking curve, power band is massive, regarding the TIP, at the end of the day its still the same intake size on the turbo.
I see you are running the Modshack housing, does this not make all the MAF reading a bit screwy?

It is the same size as the inlet on the turbo true and this is where people dismiss the mod. Air flow is what its all about and each bend offers a significant resistance to the flow of air.For max hybrid benefit consider the following.

air source...... presureised cold air.
Airfilter.......... large and heat shielded
maff........ descreened at least to remove air resistance.
tip.........3 inch all the way to the turbo inlet (turbo doesn't have to work so hard and is not starved)
intercooler......large with minimal pressure drop (forget Ebay specials)
Intercooler outlet piping.......remove stock pancake
Throttle body........upgrade to remove csa restriction due to butteryfly.
Intake manifold..... as perTuffty build open up inlet to 70mm.
Injectors......decent factory correct pattern.

The mod shack housing does under read a little but as long as you adjust fueling to suit theres no problem. If you fancy trying it, do the descreened maff housing first. i'm a huge believer in getting the basics sorted first so any thing i can do to improve the intake system to the engine i will. Power is all about max air into the engine correctly fuelled. It all works good for me.

air source...... presureised cold air. Agree, CAI, on the things to do list, but i still believe the stock setup with highflow filter ain't to bad
Airfilter.......... large and heat shielded.Yes and No, Large filter Yes,Jetex, heat sheild, alot of them on the market are cosmetic only, better off making one up oursleves, RobDon did a nice one if i remember correctly(battery relocation needed
maff........ descreened at least to remove air resistance. This has never really been proven Willy, some peeps say the MAF can misread as the airflow is not linear, its still debatable IMO, but yes i can see where the thoery comes in, its quit a restriction at the plactic mesh
tip.........3 inch all the way to the turbo inlet (turbo doesn't have to work so hard and is not starved)Agree, Can't see any harm in this, but as you said yourself, it still all has to go thru the same Turbo intake
intercooler......large with minimal pressure drop (forget Ebay specials)Most decent Coolers have a 0.2psi drop, overall i agree but not a fan of the Race size coolers due to added lag. Also the WMI really helps here.
Intercooler outlet piping.......remove stock pancakeAgree,Luckily the LCR is not affected by this
Throttle body........upgrade to remove csa restriction due to butteryfly.Agree, but is it really worth the cost?
Intake manifold..... as perTuffty build open up inlet to 70mm.Agree, but again is it worth the cost?
Injectors......decent factory correct pattern.[/QUOTE] 440cc, Bocsh Green gaint or green tops seem to be the favourites

You could have just said its all about Flow, heat and fueling :D

Still so far the big restriction on these hybrids has been the stock mani getting choked so it will be interesting to see how the high flow mani compliments it.

the turbos in catterick im in cov and it looks like coated inside yeah. when i get back monday i will see if they match up and if mine is ok, or if need to grind anything, im not to bothered if it touches, i got some thermotec exhaust wrap which is expensive stuff so will put that beeween turbo and mani.
got to wait here till mon as i need my injectors before i go back up the road and finally start the rebuild :) whens your rods being fitted ?

We will see who finishes first i have to leave the country for a while so i probably won't get all the tuning done and yeah it a fully custom map, I haven't worked out the finer details of the price yet!

When are you boing to be on the road again?

well hopefully have all my stuff from forge monday, then drive back to catterick that afternoon and im hoping that when i get up that way engine will be ready, once i get engine will take a few days to fit to car, will get it booked in for a mot and hopefully start the mapping on the 18th...

how longs the mapper said will take to do your car and you need your car when you leave the country,

The coated mani looks mint, wellworth the extra for the benefits it brings, to have it coated inside and out is top notch.
WMI, calico coating, egt monitoring and a segmented flange should allmake for a reliable manifold....i hope.
My setup will hopefully be finished this year so the three of us will have intresting results to compare especially because were all running different mods. Hopefully we can all run on the same dyno to see what works best.:)

He said 1/2 days to tune it.

What Dyno are you going on?, as our setups are very close it would be interesting to compare as Bill said.

I will be going on a Dyno Dynamic's RR which is supposed to be very accurate. My First dyno will be Wednesday next, so i will be posting up the results here and on My thread, if he can't get it all tuned on Wednesday i will have to wait until the following thursday to finish it.

Can't wait TBO
