You know you have an MK2 Ibiza when you've owned it as a first car since 6 weeks and almost went off the road while trying to figure out how to shut off the rear wiper... And then still couldn't figure it out while you're parked...

You know you have a MK2 Ibiza when you try to make it sound better by saying "Yes, but it's a GLX!"

You know you have a MK2 Ibiza when it takes about 20 seconds for the fuel gage to reach the actual fuel level... And when the fuel gage can be either at a quarter tank left or completely empty, depending on if you last took a left or a right hand turn...

You know you have a 1.4 MK2 Ibiza when you can outrun a Mercedes Sprinter untill 4th gear... and then it comes flying passed at 180km/h...

Oh, just came up with one probably only I have...

You know you have a MK2 Ibiza when everytime it has been raining and you open the trunklid, a stream of water comes dripping out of the lid...
No idea what's the cause of that, but it's kind of funny to see..

Also... I'm new here, I own a red 1995 MK2 Ibiza 1.4, I live in the Netherlands, and I absolutely love the car... And I don't even abuse it! :) The car itself cost me 350 euros and there's nothing wrong with it... (Well.. was... Yesterday the ignition cylinder was so worn out it wouldn't let me start it)... Well... There is some small things wrong with it, but I don't really mind. It even has the original Seat hubcaps, and there's not a scratch on them :D Want to keep her forevar :)

I think mine never had a fuel light.... *puppy eyes*... Cause I've never seen it on and i've been running on less then a quarter tank for a long time.... Naaah, it can't be broken :D

Yep, mine is getting pink too on the hood and right fender... And the clear coat is coming off on the roof, and was coming off on the left fender(already painted that)... Saw it happen on a VW Polo classic(same front end) too, so..

So, I guess:
You know you have a red mk2 Ibiza when your clear coat is peeling for no real reason, if you didn't repaint your car yourself...

I'll get some pictures up soon :)

Stupid thing drives perfectly it just sounds horrendous which means if I dint get it looked at something would wreck the car

Tell me about it, mine is driving almost perfectly but I have a dry bearing on either my power-steering pump or water pump and it is whine like :censored:. Its getting rather annoying now.

Oh and I have alittle lacquer peel on my roof aswell.
