Which discs you gone for Damo?? The same i have?

The 2nd set of brake pads i have ordered are wrong aswell!! :censored: They are to small! I have spent all morning looking through the EBC Brakes Direct website to try and find the pads i need, but with no luck!! :help:

Im thinking that now im just going to go for the Ferado Race ds2500 pads (same as what Kriso has) as i know these fit!!

So im currently £200+ out of pocket with 2 sets of brake pads that dont fit my car!! :ban:

discs look good mate, id be careful with drilled discs thoguh mate as they tend to crack....Badger Bill wont stock drilled discs becaus of the fact that they crack. Thats why i went for the dimpled style discs ive got

How much are the Ds2500 pads from Badger? You got a product code or anything for them? and are they better than standard pads???

DS2500's are £110.40+carriage clicky, and are very highly recommended mate.

I have heard all the stories about drilled discs cracking but to be fair I dont give my brakes muck stick at all so I think I'll be ok.

I get all my brakes through Bill. EBC discs (not the above turbo ones) and DS2500 pads.

Just ask Bill what he recommends :)

Just out of interest, how does your mates corsa VXR stand up to your Cupra??
I've been told they are pretty quick:shrug:

Completly missied this!!

Hes recently had it remapped and a full miltek exhaust fitted and is now running approx 225bhp so i dont stand much of a chance!! but when it was standard we where near enough identical. never had a proper tear up together, did do a track day once but it was his first ever track day and was my 2nd/3rd at the track in my Cupra so i knew what the track was like, and went flying past him!

sounds lovely with the miltek on....pops during every gear change and makes a lovely noise when accelerating

Right...........

It has been a VERY long time since ive updated my so called 'progress' thread! Mainly due to a few reason: 1. Ive spent the last year in Australia and 2. I am now skint from spending a year in Australia!! lol

As the car stands, she is exactly the same as the last post says. The only thing i can think of that has been changed is the head unit to a Pioneer jobbie! To be more specific a Pioneer DEH-P6000UB which looks like this:

Pioneer_DEH-P6000UB_big.jpg

I have recently, started a new job and am actually looking at now spending some money on my car and actually making it a little quicker! I have spent the last little while looking on the Forge website and have seen a nice selection of stuff that i want to buy, mainly:

- Silicone Throttle Body Hose: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190103&product=FMIB4CUPTH
- Boost pipe: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190103&product=FMIBMAP
- Turbo Inlet Pipe: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190103&product=FMINDIBFR4

These are the main things that im looking at purchasing, but im also considering:

- Replacement Blue Silicone Hoses: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190103&product=FMKTIBMK4
- Blow-Off Valve Relocation Kit: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190103&product=FMIB4CRLK

These 2 arent essential buys, but the hoses will tidy up the engine bay and keep everything colour co-oridnated (to the blue theme im aiming for) and the relocation kit to reduce the intake temperatures.

Other parts im looking at ordering are:

- Newsouth Intake Manifold Gasket: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=3718&xSec=338
- Reaplacement manifold (possibly an INA jobbie):
DSC00056-2.jpg

(taken from Hartosh1's build thread)

Im also considering changing from a panel filter to some form of open cone filter with possibly a heat sheild (optional) although im unsure on what filter to get. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I've also got bigger plans for my Cupra, mainly a stage 2 remap, as well as a turbo back Miltek exhaust, coilovers and some lightweight wheels (thinking some nice black Team Dynamics multi spokes...if they fit!)

I would love to be able to achieve all of these modifications to my car, but i no realistically its going to take some time!! :( so progress will be slow and painful but im hoping to start at the end of this month! *Fingers crossed* The first thing im looking at buying is the Boost Pipe, which from my understanding requires some cutting of the front bumper so this should prove interesting!! :scary: Lol

Thanks for reading!

Good thread Jay just noticed this, if your looking at doing the manifold i will have an INA one up for sale end of september will do you a good price on it if its in good condition.

All in all plans sound good :)

As for filters i have the Jetex which does the job well enough it could do with a heat shield but having the FMIC helps alot with temps!

Just to point out, the above three products all come with a replacement throttle body hose so you'll have a spare one after you've finished spending :D If it was me, I'd get the second two and sell the spare throttle body hose. Or you could keep it and swap between the relocation or not at your leisure :p

Nice car anyhow, black Cupra's are the best [B)]. Have fun spending money on it :)

UPDATE 2012

Has been a while since ive been om here and updated my thread, but then again ive not had much of a reason to update it as nothing has changed...until now!! [B)]

Since my last 'update' a while ago the car has stayed very much unchanged and had no problems with her until start of 2012 when i started hearing funny noises whenever i pulled away! took it to a mechanic that my friend recommended to me who pointed out that my clutch and flywheel would need changing and this should solve the problem so £580 and 3 weeks later i get my car back with new clutch and flywheel! Happy days...or so i thought! As whilst driving home i could still hear the same noise as before i dropped it off and whilst driving home my car got completely stuck in first gear!! :censored: Pulled over and even with 2 hands pulling as hard as i could it would not budge! Being that I was only 1/2 mile max from home i thought i'd try and limp it home. Drove 100 yards down the road, turned into a side road so i wouldnt hold everyone up and tried again and it came out as if nothing had happened! :wtf:

It had also become apparent that my reverse light was consistently on no matter what gear I was in!! Within 24 hours though the problem had sorted itself out!

Long story made a bit shorter, dropped the car back off to the garage a little while later and it turned out id completely f**ked my 1st gear and the whole thing needed replacing!! whilst i was there, he offered to replace all my bearings and syncros for the rest of my gears as they where looking a bit worn! So £700 and a few days later my car is all fixed and feels good again!! I am still getting a funny noise sometimes when I pull away but i know my cambelt and water pump is in need of changing and I think this maybe the cause of the problem.

I have also had to change my 2 front tyres as the passenger side front somehow had a slit on the outer wall covering a good 80% of the tyre!! So within the space of 2 months I have spent a fortune fixing my car after pretty much 5 1/2 years of trouble free running!!

564484_10151468697145103_565500102_23824042_1829810274_n.jpg

So, being that I felt a little sorry for myself and that I have been skint for a while I decided to treat myself (and the car) to a few goodies and changes as I got paid on friday and got a nice little bonus! So after going out and celebrating friday night with a few work mates and feeling sorry for myself for most of the weekend....

75509_10151553540765103_565500102_24086233_1604934742_n.jpg

....i called up Damian @ DPM and ordered myself a set of JOM coilovers. I did do some research into these as originally I was only going for lowering springs and found these at a good price so thought why not! I know they are cheap and cheerful but after reading reviews from people on here i feel happy with the choice i've made!

I have also booked my car in to have the wheels refurbished and re-sprayed a different colour! Im keeping that a secret for now but the colour is unique (havent seen it on a mk4 as of yet) and a little different. Some people will like it, some wont but again its a colour ive wanted to do for a while and got quoted a good price so went for it!

So the car got dropped off this morning to get the wheels done and I should hopefully be picking her up either tuesday night or wednesday so keep eyes peeled for photos when its done! ;) Once I get home from dropping the car off i find this parcel waiting for me in the hall....

These will be getting fitted for me on Saturday (hopefully!) so this time next week the car should be looking quite different! Im looking forward to it! I have also read that some people have changed the drop links on their cars whilst fitting these coilovers (2000 mondeo or Ford Puma droplinks ring a bell!) as these make the car sit lower, but im not looking at going stupidly low, but depending on what the car looks like when they've been fitted, I may end up getting these as well.

Happy reading and more photos to come during the week!!

:thanks:

Just need to work out what colour to paint the calipers as red doesn't look right anymore!! Was thinking black with 'SEAT Sport' in orange. Any other suggestions?!

Its been lowered approx 40mm at present but once its all settled down im considering dropping it down a little more to 50mm, just a little bit too high for me at moment (i think!) Loving the handling now, feels so flat and stable! just got to wait for the weather to dry out so i can a) wash it...with a watering can ofcourse  and b) take it for a spin down some windy roads to give it a real test!!

Opinions welcome!
