UPDATE

I thought I would clean a few parts of the car I hadn't really tackled since I got it new back in May. I bought some APC Cleaner from the Rubbish Boys Shop (Cheers!) and a brush from Ebay and set about doing the door shuts and boot.

I also got the Monkey Spunk out and gave the door cards a wipe down

After finishing all that I thought I'd give the engine a wipe down with APC, came up looking great

Oh and finally got a decent picture of my new sticker!

Your as anal about the door shuts as me then! haha :p
i've done mine everytime i've washed it, but then it rains and it stains them again :|

Also i've found the door cards mark really really easily, altho i'm just using speed detailer and a microfibre to remove marks.

Did you just use a microfibre (with the APC) to do the engine?

That's how I did my door cards as well!

I used an Ebay detailing brush, MF and APC mate.

haha oh yeah. What does that stuff do then?

It's a speed detailer (QD) it basically shines the paint quickly

Cleaned the car fully today but no pics as I found a large scratch on the rear bumper

Loving the pics of your car! Mine is the same spec just in Lunar Grey. Getting a spoiler fitted at Letchworth Autos in a few weeks, can you recommend anywhere to visit or go shopping for the day while I wait for the car? I'm not local, I've got to drive about 40 miles to get to Letchworth, but since that's where the car came from and you've had good experience with them, plus my local Seat garage is rubbish, thought I would make the trip. Any ideas on what I can do for the day?

Did they just say they'd have it during the day? They kept mine overnight for the bonding to set

Ah sorry, the guy said about that and I explained I lived far away and he said they could order and paint it in advance if I pay deposit, and then fit it first thing in the morning when I get there and I could take it home late afternoon as that would be long enough. Was a bit worried about this, but can't really leave it overnight as going home in courtesy car then back next day will cost a bomb in petrol to be honest

Depends what you want to do mate, the Letchworth garage is a very short walk from town, you can stay there and shop, go over to Stevenage (Shopping, cinema, bowling etc) or 40 min train ride into London

Ah ok, sounds like I have choices then. Do you think it will be ok to just leave the bonding to set for the day? I guess the guy at the garage wouldn't have suggested it if not, just a bit worried given that I'm spending my hard earned cash. Plus being a female and new to all this car stuff, i have no idea what's best to be honest :D

Tell me about it! It's hard to say no to shoes etc, but I really think the spolier makes the car look so much better that it's worth the sacrifice and then I will probably wait a while until I do anything else. Although my boyfriend wants me to get lowering springs and then let him loose on the car, plus I have thought about getting the stereo surround etc in silver to match the other silver touches that were already inside when bought the car. Oh decisions! Oh and it's so annoying that the Peterborough SEAT are rubbish as it means a trip to Letchworth every time which is quite a drive!

Should be fine if they have ok'd it, if it's not then they will have to do it again!

My spoiler is getting fitted at Letchworth as I type this! Excited! Annoyed though - got there and been told it's £299, whereas on the phone he said £278, in fact twice I've spoken to them and that is the price they said. Got no way of proving it though apart from knowing myself what he said and the fact that SC16v got theirs done at the same garage for similar price (£275). They have agreed to come down on price by £10, so to £289, but it's the principal of the matter. Argh! Gonna take a print out of this thread where it says they quoted £275 for someone else in June and see if they will change their minds, but I doubt it!
