Instructions?

Aye up,

I ordered my ITG kit last week and it should arrive tomorrow. I will be fitting it myself and wandered if the instructions are easy to follow.

I know i have to take the engine cover off and for a car novice even thats a job i would normally go to the garage for! :help:

Do i require any special tools or additional fitting for the installation?

Cheers, Ian

the itg is realy simple to fit mate, the instructions take you thru it step by step, i think the tool you will need to get is for taking the hose clamps off.

What do we think of the EVOMS Intake?

I've got one on my Cupra, it's hella loud and seems to do the job, just wondering if there is a better system out there? Forge Twintake seems neat, but very expensive.

The EVOMS produces highest air flow readings from the information I have seen, along with the VF 3" intake which just happens to be the 2 intakes fitted to the only sub 13 second 1/4 mile K04 Cupras.

I don't believe there would be much between the air intakes being honest however. If you have an EVOMS, I would not bother looking to change unless you wanted something a bit quieter. Personally, I would avoid the ITG for the fact that its made with foam and not cotton.

If you are looking for something quiet, you could do worse than a Dbilas which, contrary to popular belief, is a great intake and very able to assist a car in making good figures with nice power/torque plots and decent performance.

Interesting.

Thanks man. I am thinking of maybe building a bit of a box around the Cone to cut the noise down a bit. It'll be removeable for when I wanna go nuts though hehe.

Dude keep the Evoms and build the enclosure. Sugen or I can help you with making the fibreglass enclosure [B)] You get the best of both worlds. My advice would be to fit the additional ram air feed from the foglight grill up into the enclosure so the intake isnt starved of air. You must take a drive in my car and see how quiet the enclosure has made the Evoms, except for the past weekend's Track day where my buddy asked me to take it off and make some NOISE.

Yeah I reckon that is the way.

I must send you a PM, I actually have a bunch of questions.

Finally, its on!

Hey,

I tried to fit it myself but those pesky VW circlips proved beyond my long nose pliers ability, especially the turbo hose segment. I would Recommend that anyone fitting this kit buy a set of lockable circlip pliers.

I popped over to a REVO dealer called AUTO HAUS in edinburgh today who fitted the kit for me. The ITG is a wee bit louder than i thought it would be but i do like it.

Whilst there i got the free 5 hour REVO trail upload.

I must say at first i thought the car wasn't to differnet, louder yes but significantly quicker no. However after about 15 miles on the road things started to come together and the car felt very quick :D so quick that i took a detour through stirling to get to some roads toward Loch Lomond that i know well to test it out. Awesome!! I will be going back over this week to get the full package uploaded. I have around 2 hours of my 5 hour free trail left (its only timed when the car is running) and intend to make the most of it :)
