I made a start on installing the new hardware today as it was a nice day. Got the manifold on, the easiest manifold I've ever fitted, access to all the nuts is easy! Then after clocking the turbo and core into the correct positions I fitted the turbo and the oil and coolant lines, all went on dead easy.

That's as far as I got today. Next is the last of the big stuff, fit the new DP and CAT section under the car.

Why does you bay all ways look mint even half way through installing a turbo , what pisses me off is mk2 cupras make the power your going for just with a stage 2 map , we all no this won't be your "final" set up tho lol , looking good as usual

Rob, where did you get the heatsheilding from for the coilpack wiring and the bulkhead? Is it adhesive backed? How thick is it?

I managed to get the downpipe on yesterday, what a 'mare it was! The only way to get it on was to remove everything including the manifold, drop the DP into where it sits then re-fit the manifold, there is no way of getting the DP down into the hole unless you remove the manifold! It's on now though so I just have to bolt everything back on and fit the CAT section and we're on the home straight!

Not sure which oil feed fitting to use on the turbo, I have 3 to choose from, 2 of them appear to be 0.8mm restrictors (one of which is a banjo-type) and one is a steel fitting which came with the 2nd-hand stuff from Backdraft.

I was going to use the orange alloy one - not sure now?

Having searched and read this on the Garrett website:

"Oil pressure entering a ball-bearing turbocharger needs to be between 40 psi and 45 psi at the maximum engine operating speed. For many common passenger vehicle engines, this generally translates into a restrictor with a minimum of 0.040" diameter orifice upstream of the oil inlet on the turbocharger center section."

0.040" is 1.016mm, so I measured these fittings and the centre one appears to be bang on at just a smidge over 1mm wide, so I'll use that one.
