Short shifter is an absolute must in leon cupra as the gear changes are so loooooooong in standard :)

I bought mine from ebay for £30. Some unknown brand - works great :)

2 things before i do this mod. can i do this with the shifter in place or do i have to take it off?
now this might sound silly but is it best to mark out wher to drill with the gear box and gear stick in neutral?

i did mine with the shifter in place... used a pencil pushed through the cable connector to mark a point to drill into the shifter. managed to fit a bolt through from underneath - used a M8 50mm long, 3 washers, one nut and one nylon lock nut

yeah, while still fitted to the car... marked with a pencil first, then very carefully drilled with metal specific drill bit

its a tight working space, just go really gentle with the drill so you dont do any damage...

does this mod work on cupra r because i marked mine up to drill and noticed that the gear linkage will sit on top of raised part of shifter when in second gear and snags up a bit .the forge one has not got the rasied side on it so wont snag is it me just being a bit slow:think:

It feels really weird lol imagine your normal gear change but you only move the gear stick 1/4 of the way in as to the 100% with out this,

It feels in a way that it mite knock its self out of gear bloody hope not lol :D

Nice one, yeah does feel like that be ok when you are used to it, make sure you tell any one who drives the car, don't want them thinking it's broke and gets forceful with it ;)
