Best Price for Tyres

Ayup Now, how are we all, aint spoke for a few weeks as been a busy boy.

Just back to pick peoples brains.

Had a blow out over the weekend at 70ish MPH, put the old spare Alloy on, but the original tyre is so now need to buy a new one.

So I was just wondering if you knew the best and cheapest place to get a new tyre from?

Ive just got the original Cupra Alloys running on Pirelli PZero Nero 205/40 ZR17 84W XL 's, so i want a new one of them to keep them all the same, best price ive found so far seems to be mid £70's.

While we are on the subject of Tyres......................
What are peoples opinions of the Pirelli PZero Nero's???? Would you say stick with them.......or.........go for another make???? As a few people seem to rate either GoodYear Eagle F1's or Toyo Proxes T1-R.

P-Zeros are scary and expensive tyres, they don't even rate against Toyo T1R or Toyo Proxes, £70 to £80 a corner is the regular rate these days, tyres have gone up in price recently.

I recommend toyo's I've been using them for years and their THAT much better than PZero's I stuck with them

Didn't rate the standard P Zero's, used to run the cupra on Proxes PX-4's, which are about £57 a corner. Couldnt fault the PX-4's, superb grip in the dry, not to bad in the wet, and last faily long, about 10K - 12K.

I'm running T1R proxies myself, i'd recommend them personally

As for prices, I found camskill very cheap myself

Have always found Camskill the cheapest on tyres (but always check the usual suspects).

Running T1-R's (Leon & Pug) and Goodyear F1's GSD3 (Accord).

Paid £75 each delivered for 225/45/17's a few weeks ago.

Cheers for the input people much appreciated, something to mull over i suppose, might have to get a bit of overtime in to get some spare cash to change all 5 of the tyres then, as it seems that people really dont rate the P Zero's !!!

The T1R's i had on my old Octy wore FAR to quick, when i needed new ones i went for cooper Zeon CS6. They lasted ages (14k) and gave grip just as good as the T1R's in the wet and much better in the dry, it's food for thought!

Had my Toyos for nearly 12,000 miles at this point and they survived a trip to the isle of man and regular jaunts over the brecon beacons.

In the past, My tyres (even with discount) tended to be just a little more expensive than Camskill.

I bought the Toyo's off Camskill for the Pug and the Leon this year and winter tyres for them both from My tyres (much better range) in November last year.

Just depends on the car i'm guessing mate, from what i've seen it does look like they wear easier for faster cars, i've had mine since jan and they havent worn at all in 6 months

I may well have to start saving and get on it to get some new tyres all around! Not sure what I'll defo go for, i'll just mull it over while i save the spare cash i suppose, as ive had another name thrown into the hat by a friend.......as he rates Uniroyal Rainsport 2......he says they are quality in the rain and above average in the dry.
Plenty of time to decide i suppose! haha

I'll give you my experience on what I've had

Toyo- they are just olrite, nothing special in wet or dry but they are cheap

Goodyear f1'- billion times better than the toyos, they are too expensive and tend to give alot of road noise

Avon zz3- very good dry, very crap in the wet bit like driving on ice lol.

Continentals- you may aswell just drive without tyres.

Infinity (dealers idea of safe replacement tyre) - one word. Shite.

Yet I drive alot

I know haha only had the car two years. Inifinitys And continentals I never full used as I thought they was dangerous lol!

I've had Yokohama parada spec2 and toyo r888 on a fiesta track car both of which were just immense!

hmmmmmm Yokohama Parada.......the are the same price as the P Zero Nero's on one of the websites.
although they dont say that they are spec2

I probably would go with the advice of a fellow Beeza owner, same engine the lot as you will appreciate that different tyres suit different cars for better or worse. Casing point, personally I believe that the T1-R's suit the Pug better than the Leon.

I'm not complaining with them on the Leon either, but I was 50:50 between the T1-R's and F1's. Would like to know what the F1's feel like on the Leon. Cost/wear rate is not an issue as long as its not ridiculous. Performance is priority.
