Can anybody tell me what the 'mystery button' does on the inside of the B pillar (bottom of drivers seatbelt) on the floor on the drivers side.? It shows a interior picture of the car and presses on and off and is backlit but doesnt seem to do anything. its not mentioned anywhere in the owners manual.

It disables the internal sensors of the volumetric alarm.

Its if you leave a dog or child or something in the car, allows you to lock the car and the alarm will be armed on the doors etc, but the sensors wont detect the people or animal inside.

If you press it once as you get out of the car then arm the alarm as normal, it should have disabled them.

Next time you start the car or turn on the ignition it goes back to normal full alarm.

I've also found that the volumetric does not work if the remote key is inside the car, even if not inserted into the ignition switch.

My dutch import doesn't have any alarm by the brokers choice as I don't think the dutch spec alarm is Thatcham standard. So £100 is saved and for £200 a Toad C4T alarm overlays the immobizer and central locking. It all sounded logical to me. Means you don't use the remote key but a have remote Toad fob.

Mystery Button.

Does anyone know what the button down low below the drivers door sill does.

I only noticed it by accident, its quite hidden away, I pressed it but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Cheers.

IIRC if you press this before locking the doors/arming the alarm, it disables the interior sensors, therfore you can leave a window ajar for pets/ kids etc.
