wow if that is just a change in struts and nothing else than this is AWESOME - so often I'm coming back with both hands full of shopping and holding key with just fingers. This would be so useful to have!!!!

Post the type/part number of struts we need to buy!

So you're using the same mounting positions just stronger struts to force it up?
When you've found the right one's post it up please pal. As predo says above it is useful if you have your hands full and you don't want to put what you're carrying down on the floor!

madsen i get the same fault with most long coding helpers. As everyone else seems to have theirs working i am assuming there may be a fault with mine so i have returned it.

I dont think its the cable, because mine works just fine. My guess is that it is the software that are missing some sort of directory for the differrent bit's.

my cable worked fine too but i couldn't understand why nobody else had this fault. I managed to find most of the files it said it was missing in newer copies of vag com but i could not get these files to open with vag com 704. I dont know if something is installed on my car that isnt on some other meaning it need these newer codes. I have heated seat/xenons/seat sat nav dont know if you have any of these options

I will post up once i get the correct struts, i went for theone to mod the mk5 golf, as posted above. They are 60mm shorter than the standard leon ones though, so they arent any use for us! Boot is too low and serious head hitter!!

Also, for our cars, i bought all the items (struts, buffers, and ball pins) but all we need for the leon is the struts. I thought the standard spring loaded Leon ones were better for giving it a push! I will find out like i say.

If any one wants to try and find some gas struts, they need to be:

Total length 500mm
Body of strut: 280mm ish
Stroke: 210mm

And you are looking for a force of 600NM
(550 may do the trick, 600nm seem to be very hard to shut the boot, although this is said to become easier with use).

I can only browse on my phone as im working away, so i cant really search around. Ive emailed one strut specialist who make the to your requeirments.

I wonder if the sizes os struts are on ETKA?

I think a longer stroke would be better than a longer body. I cant be certain. Ive found ones that seem to be perfect for it. but ive emailed to check.

You would need to check the distance between the mounting points when the boot is closed. that will let you find out what will fit.

Quick question.... Can i "hurt" my 3rd part cable, by testing it with the new ross-tech vcds, with wireless turned off?
The old 704 dosnt support my netbooks win7, so im currently forced to drag my very very large company ibm down in the car all the time :(

very possibly yes is the answer. If you have the internet off you may be ok though, have read other sites and people seem to have mixed success when doing it. Just make sure 100% there is no way it will connect to the internet

I have found ver 805.0 as well so when I get cable I might give it a try.... i'll make sure I can do all changes I want in 704.1 and then have a go at higher version :)
