Just thougt i would share this with you guys even do i own a golf mk4 1.8t, this is the first golf 1.8T engine code AGU fittet with APR s3+kit (the kit was installed back in 2008). i have since then made a lot of mods besides the kit and chacing more power on this kit, i recently achieved 393bhp and 466nm of torgue. Car is from 2000, engine AGU with oem large port head like AEB. head is stock so far, but next to be modded along with tranny. anyways this my list of mods, the results down the road and hopefully usefull information.

Custom sw from RH-motorsport of denmark
APR s3+kit with BB GT2860rs 0,64 (BABY version)
APR intake manifold with VR6 65mm dbc throttlebody and INA adapter.
APR r1 dv
HGP intercooler core with custom end tanks and 2,5" piping, but only from pancake pipe since i still run that.
Aquamist 1s water/methanol system - 0,7mm nozzle.
Eboost2 electronic boost control with wireless remote to switch between high and low boost settings.
Pauter EDM rods
TRE 255l fuel pump for stock in tank mount.
550cc injectors at 4bar
2,75"-2,5" Milltek exhaust combo system with VES cutout from BMW m5, vacum controlled and opens by boost remote.
INA Catch can setup.
Golf iv R32 DSG airbox system with K&N panel filter
100cell FIA approved catalytic converter

The road to powaar...

All dynos are done at RH-motorsport - AFR in super save zone on all dynos.

APR s3+kit installed with 2,5" exhaust system with 400cell cat - 1bar boost, 283bhp (backpressure in exhaust 0,9bar :-o )

APR s3+kit with 3" exhaust and 400cell cat - 1,3bar of boost - 322bhp

APR s3+kit, 3" exhaust+100cell cat, rods, APR intake manifold with 65mm tb, custom HGP IC - 1,35bar of boost - 358bhp

APR s3+kit, 3" exhaust+100cell cat, rods, APR intake manifold with 65mm tb, Aguamist 1s, HGP ic, 1,4bar off boost 364bhp, APR fuel pump maxed out.

APR s3+kit, Milltek system with VES and 100cell cat, rods, APR intake manifold with 65mm tb, Aquamist 1s, HGP IC, fuel pump upgrade - 1,6bar of boost - 393bhp

Lovely car, with some serious power! Sounds awesome on the R/R.!

Thanks a lot, and you should hear it in real life, i think recorded mig dont do it all credit, its insane this VES, sounds like a racecar when you rev it, and when its close and you drive around its like stock, one of my mest appriciated mods on the car :)

very good power that buddy must be hoot to drive

Thanks - and yes its a lot of fun to drive, i havent done actually testing so far on a racetrack yet, but going to try 1/4 mile racer on saturday and hopefully post some vids of it - unfortunately the forecast says rain

Thought i also post this link to another 1.8T but with GT3071r turbo, same boost, also w/m and identical exhaust system and IC to mine, sw also by RH-motorsport but on stand alone ecu, and same dyno - this car puts down 419bhp - so im pushing close to the same powers not to mention a lot more torgue :funk:

just wanted to say this dyno is far from optimistic and well i turned so many heads in denmark with this including RH-motorsport, because no one has gotten powers even close to this on such a "tiny" turbo....but the real credit is to the APR intake manifold, this one combined with bigger tb and aquamist to raise boost is the key, you can see from powers before these install they where very on par with what most makes on GT28rs, but gotta really hand it to APR, that intake manifold lives up to their claims and is an impressive piece of engineering....

You Danes and Nordics really are miles ahead of the rest of Europe when it comes to pushing performance, without a doubt. Is this the 4wd model? I wouldn't fancy 400bhp FWD !

Thanks mate - but those yankees are even further ahead .. a user on tex made same power 3 years ago on same setup, just dbw, APR sw and bigger TB, altough he never maxed out his APR fuel pump like i did at 360bhp  must have been running leaner...

but no its not a 4wd, but i actually got solution for that without insane wheelspin, in 1. gear i run it on low boost setting, boost climbs "slowly" to 1bar, the ebc is set top keep wg open on this setting, so when i floor it in 1. gear i can run up to 60-70km/h at the rev limiter (7800rpm) and put it in 2. gear, hit 2. setting and hit 1,58bar + VES opens - this really gives you a smooth and fast acceleration, in 2. gear it still spinns, but not to much and you are moving forward fast at same time...dont know what it will do for time yet this setup, but acceleration is very smooth this way, i switch between the settings on the fly with a remote behind steering wheel :)....

Anyways 90% of the time i run the car in low boost setting, its better and more smoth then stock, i remember how easy i got wheel spin when i was k03 and chpped, dont do that anymore, just accelerate on HP instead of torgue, and ride is economical also this way, i get more km pr liter fuel then i did before:)

PS: i do believe seeing badger pushing the envolope as well ;)

I know I was talking to a friend in the states recently, he was saying 1000bhp is normal there now. Crazy.

Ah yes that makes sense mate, I think Badger is actually using a similar setup on his Cupra from I remember.

yeah they do make insane powers of their, Edsgti is still the fastest and most hp 1.8T over their, he has about 800whp, what is close to 900bhp...but i dont fancy to much the big big turbos, i think action comes to late, you can shift your self out of it and run anti lag etc., but you gotta build engine to run past 9500rpm for that to make sense in my world, or else you just get a short powerband that makes your arm goes numb because of shifting....JVK-tuning has a demo car he is finishing to around 600bhp on GT35, this car is build to rev to 9500rpm and has a 1st gear of 110kmh, this makes sense to me, but reving to 7500rpm like most do in the states on GT35 just makes 0 sense i think - but for some that is perfect and we all have different goals etc....mine was to push the envolope on this APR s3+kit and get as much power in rev band as possible, road has been long for this and i still need to finetune my ebc so boost dont drops from 6000rpm, its irritaiting me a bit...but i just installed a newsouth performance gasket, man thats a nice little upgrade - further upgrades will be AGN 1.8 NA cams, valves and maybe HTA 2868 turbo, but i just love my little disco potato to much:D....

Well you certainly have your head screwed on, and clearly have the finances to do what you want! Look forward to future updates :)

Thanks mate - hope to bring some more updates :) and well as for finances, the car is a bigger drain on the bank account then my girlfriend ...but this is my hobby and something i enjoy puzzling with -not the average hobby for an auditor ...but actually most of the build i have done my self, except rods and welding jobs :funk:

Straight lines are for girls.. lol

only kidding..
nice car, nice figures.. should go well if traction can be had
good luck, hope its dry

I'm doing ok..
will see what mine does on its new spec motor build
now I have a dyno I can fiddle to my hearts content and optimise..
MrsB will see even less of me.. :hide:

GT35R on mine these days, 9krpm limiter, very long legged 1st gear 85mph at limiter, top gear just over 200mph capable
higher compression on the new motor being built.
In racing the spool is superb.. love it. far better than my previous turbo's, FP Green, FP Red, 4krpm onwards it pulls like a mofo.. 2wd being its problem. It spins all the gears in the dry..
4wd needed to make use of the full power potential.. Its turned down for racing to 400bhp levels where its traction limited.
Would like to build a 4wd motor with my ibiza's engine spec.. That would fly!

Thanks a lot Bill :)

But i actually agree lol - i like tracks with corners a lot more, but i need to make some more mods to suspension and brakes before i do that, so i just wanna race it and get some 1/4 numbers on it...but if the race is not cancelled and hopefully it will be moved to sunday, so weather is better, im gonna race it on absolut street trim, complete interior, street drive suspension and 18" street tires, i wanna know what it can do in this trim ...

Thougt i would post this up, this is a friend of mine with a ko3s turbo, 3" exhaust, fmic and induction kit , custom chip etc...every thing done to this, and a dyno comparison to mine - think its a bit fun comparison.
