Annoying squeaky noise that only happens when the car's cold?

Get it into the dealers, save them some time by telling them that re-lubing the bushes and realigning the cowling doesn't help

mine's going back into the dealers for the 4th time when i get back from holiday

still no closer, well, a bit closer, at least I know what it isn't

Main problem with it is that it sorts itself out once the car's warmed up, so there's only a small window of opportunity in which to diagnose the problem, then you have to wait til the next morning before testing to see if the treatment has worked.

I also have this problem. I was thinking that it was the silver surround around the dials, however as you said nightflight its more apparent when the car is cold.

Is it the silver surround?

i tryed pushing and pulling them while driving and no change in the rattle. as well as the clear plastic over the dials, the trip, and all of that area. so i think it must be coming from in behind them.

It's almost definitely the steering column, as when the squeak first appeared, if i pulled or pushed hard on the steering wheel it'd suppress the squeak.

i have the same problem, but mine squeaks all the time, when i push the gas, or release the clutch, basically when the wight shifts.

it is not the dials and not the silver thing, i tried to remove them its coming from behind, i think it might be the air vents for the windshield. but it is impossible to get to them without removing the dash.

or the steering column. dealer wont deal with it says it is tolerable.

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!
after many sleepless nights of thinking, yesterday I asked my friend to drive the car while i am trying to pinpoint the squeak, it turns out it comes from a seal in the heater, where the cooling lines come out of the fire wall.
All it takes is a little bit of Lubrication. i used a syringe with LM lube that doesn't attack rubber and plastic.
Made a litle video on youtube for you.
I Know that it seems strange but it was the thing that made the horrible squeak that seemed to come from behind the dash.

Hope it helps, BTW i was at the service today they didn't really recognize the issue but were willing to help me with my hunch about the seal, it is a start of holiday in Israel so they didn't have the time to do it today so i did it myself (because the wanted to remove the pedals).

We've got this problem too (as well as a rattly speaker grill) but I will certainly be giving that seal a squirt.

Thanks for the tip.:)

Well, car went in to my local dealers again this morning for them to have another go at the squeak.
I told them what evgeni had found when i dropped the car off with them.
Just had the phone call back form them, sounding all cheerful and pleased with themselves, they've traced the fault back to a mounting bracket for the dashboard panel which is underneath the dashboard, apparently some of th plastic trim was rubbing against the bracket and causing the squeak. They've road tested it and it all seems fine again.

We'll see how well they've done this evening when I pick it up and put the aircon on freeze mode for a bit.

Hurrah, It's fixed :-D big props to Julian at Gilders for fixing my baby.

Behind the dashboard is a big bar type structure, with mounting brackets that the dash clips onto. One of these brackets was not quite right so some of the panel was rubbing on it and causing the squeak, they've reworked the mounting bracket and replaced the dash and the squeaks gone.
