Just getting the roof wrapped in gloss black vinyl to start with, not sure what else I'm going to do. I had been inspired by techie's LCR wheels, but I think that it would end up costing me a small fortune, especially if I wanted to have them properly refurbished in black.

Now that you've mentioned those bloody door sill guards I want a set of the inner ones which appear to have been discontinued!

Any other suggestions?

This morning I was being dragged around the local Tesco when I received a phone call from SMC, when I answered I was surprised to be greeted by the same salesman who had been rude to me previously, to be fair he apologised and made several excuses for his behaviour, anyhow, he told me that the car was due to be delivered tomorrow PM, so it may be that I end up picking it up then instead of Saturday but we shall see.

I've just got off the phone from Totally Dynamic and am having the roof wrapped in gloss black vinyl on 24/05/10 :D

Still waiting to hear back from SEAT though...

The Enfield branch had a 5-6 week waiting list but I hadn't realised the South London branch is actually in Redhill, Surrey which isn't really that far from me, I could have booked it in sooner but I'm off that week and so thought that would be better than running around like a headless chicken trying to fit it in between my shifts!

I have just spoken to Kerry and she has confirmed that I will be getting the basic "service" pack and my boot tray as goodwill, which I'll actually be giving to my Dad cos I'm nice like that, what do I need an additional boot tray for!?

Just waiting on a confirmation email to take into the dealership to claim my freebies :D

The salesman at the dealers has just phoned to say that he and two of his colleagues have spent the morning going over my new vehicle and have found a couple of faults again on the front bumper, apparently there is a small area that looks a though it has been touched up and there is also some paint missing, they have said that if I still want the new car their bodyshop can have it ready within the next week or so which would mean missing a months tax.

I've just got off the phone with Kerry at SEAT who I had planned to ring anyway about a separate issue, she is going to phone the dealership and see what she can find out but seemed annoyed that there is yet another similar issue with a different car and said that it was a very strange coincidence as incidents like this are few and far between.

To be honest I'm fed up now, I've gone past being angry and am feeling quite despondent about the whole thing, I'm still going to go to the dealership tomorrow and have a look at it with my Dad but who knows what will happen :(

Well at least they didn't try to fob you off with it this time and have come clean about the defects. Still, there should be no defects in the first place though........

It's a tough one, not sure what I would do. Although I would probably walk away at this point and look elsewhere.

bad happenings mate. to be fair the dealer is nice with letting you know i don't want to think how many new cars gets stuff like that with maybe transport and so and the dealer gets it sorted before you know and resprayed parts or stuff like that and you never know about it.just thinking you got a brand new car when you already had damage on it.

The thing is that the replacement was supposed to be going to a different dealer as a demonstrator, but when I rejected the first car SEAT reallocated it to me and swapped my reject for it, I realise that I can't blame the dealer for this and I don't, I still want what I ordered...but what's to say that if I walk away and order another elsewhere that it won't have similar defects?

I can see where you are coming from, but I have bought 11 brand new cars and never had one arrived damaged. Either you are very very unlucky, or it has something to do with the supply route that your cars are taking, but to have two damaged before delivery........

Check the damage and if it isn't drastic let 'em sort it. It would only be another week vs months potentially. Just a thought even though the knowledge will be there. You are the only one who can make that decision mate. Let us know how it works out though.
