I personally couldn't give a flying f#@$ what colour my car is, I bought it because of it's condition, low mileage & price. I was in the market for an LCR so I just looked for the right one, regardless of colour. Yes, i'm a sucker for a black car but there are so many people who mistreat the paint that when it comes to the second hand market, a good example can be hard to find and black being the most popular of maybe all car colours, low milers are also rare. This is especially true around my way where I am one of only two LCR owners in the area it seems (the other happens to be a poorly cared for black one
), they aren't a popular car here.
I wasn't aware of the paint fade when I entered into the VAG family but then again when I bought mine, it wasn't faded at all. It was however my decision to respray it in it's original colour to freshen it up and i've not looked back.
Each to their own and all that but I don't think the LCR looks out of place in any colour, they really could have done with making one in white. As for black, the colour blends, you can't deny that but I think the LCR bodykit sits it apart from the rest
.
Bottom line, enjoy the car for what it is, how it drives & its potential for improvement!
