It's just time consuming. Unlike wet sanding however, there is no issue with damage to the existing paint finish. The end result is directly related to how much time you spend doing it, the first few chips didn't go so well, as I got used to the process i've speeded up / got better at it. Good job really, i've done at least 75 of the buggers.

I got it from someone on the Honda forums, I'd guess you can pick it up on ebay though? I was sceptical at first but it does seem to work very very well.

I polished one for a friend ( he'd sold his Ibiza Tdi and bought one) and fell in love with the shape of it 240bhp through the rear wheels and a 9k rpm redline + a folding roof + hardtop and that was me sold on one.

Just some little bits and bobs today, the weather is rancid and i'm not taking the seats out or fitting wiring in the rain.

So i've been on with the heated seat switches, thought about the usual location next to the accessory socket but I don't want them out in the open where they can get wet, nor did I want to drill holes in visible places.

Decided I wanted them in the small centre console box.

They fit nicely and are easy to get at.

Now i'm aware that the ashtray / coinpot obstructs access, however since I am no longer a smoker and I don't want things rattling in my console, that's not a huge issue. However I do like the idea of a standard looking car and since so the base of the coin holder has been dremelled out.

That lets the coin holder sit in exactly the same place as it did before but means I can either remove the ashtray if I want to get at stuff, I can still use the coin holder for storing stuff but still get at the switches if I want to.

You'd never know they were there.

I must admit, I quite like the idea that the next person that owns the car might have something 'hidden' to find if i don't tell them it's there

Went to Dunsfold the other weekend ( saw Mike, Seli and Flash too) so had to clean it, had forgotten I had shiny black wheels :d

Got the new seat covers out of the box and have had a good look at them, quality is good and the stitching is also good, no loose threads and no skimping on material. There's a good 1/4" thick covering of foam on them so it's going to make the seats a good bit more comfortable.

Been for a quick drive and several things are apparent.

1. The seat is FAR more comfortable, that extra layer of padding really helps.
2. I sit a little higher which is actually good as it lets me put the seat back a little further, might be a problem if you freakishly long of leg and body but for normal height people it's fine.
3. The covers do not slide around - i had some concerns about this but they were unfounded.

Overall I'm very happy, fitting was a piece of cake - seats out, unbolt lower squab and fit covers - put it back together and refit seats. I don't think it took more than an hour.

After a morning spent under the car today I've done the following;

1. Replaced all the CAT studs with galvanised bolts, spring washers and double locked bolts.
2. Installed a new crush gasket between the Blueflame and the CAT
3. Checked and inspected the entire underside of the car.

After this, the CAT is fine as is the heatshield. Exhaust blow has been sorted and i've come to the conclusion that I need two gearbox mount rubbers and probably the passenger side engine mount - no sense doing engine mounts unless I do them both. Having replaced the CAT studs with bolts, the last thing is to get two new bolts for the front section as the existing ones are not in a good way, it won't be possible to remove the CAT without snapping these. Since I now have a spare CAT, i'd rather these bolts were replaced now so the CAT is easier to change when required.

The annoying rattle / squeak has been traced to the handbrake, I probably need new pads although the originals are only %50 worn - for the interim i've adjusted up the handbrake mechanism and the noise is all but gone. Not sure if it's the pads chattering or whether the cable had too much slack - either way it's sorted.

Was never quite happy with the polished finish on the plug cover so today it's been lightly sanded and then painted. Also sprayed the allen bolts gloss black to freshen them up.

Can't decide whether to wet & dry the lettering on top of the cover back to polished metal, I think i prefer it one colour.

Much happier with that. Some of you might recognise the colour of the cover

Enginebay crossmember is next on the list of things to paint.

Also found a local MOT tester who is De-cat friendly - De-cat duly ordered!

Will keep the cat I got as 'spare' in case it's needed and the old one will get sold to the scrap man when it comes off. I don't suppose this is going to help fuel economy but it is going to sound even nicer than it currently does which is fine, plus the annoying rattle will be gone for good.

I'll sort some fresh pictures out and get them up, not this weekend though, it's FILTHY, is on winter scabby wheels and the hardtop is still on.

It's just had a full clutch, new OEM coilovers, starter solenoid strip and clean, a full service and I think it needs new front discs too

I just wish it had the turbo surge mixed with VTEC. Will take you out in again when the summer tyres are back on and the roads aren't quite so greasy.

Oh and when the roof is off - the noise is addictive
