Bocanegra returned less than 5 minutes after leaving the stealers! UPDATE: 23/04/
Well I ended up writing the formal letter of rejection quoting The Sale of Goods Act and sent it to the sales manager at SMC on 14/04/10 (via recorded delivery). To cut a long story short I reiterated that I didn't want that vehicle and the reasons why, my displeasure at the way I had been treated and the fact that they currently have my deposit, the balance and the Leon FR that I was PX'ing. I also asked for written confirmation that they would cover the first £500 of the £1500 excess on the courtesy car I'm using and that my Leon FR was not to be sold until I was happy with the replacement Boc.
The sales manager's response was apologetic, and he confirmed the insurance excess details and stated that my old vehicle would not be sold until I was happy with the replacement. However, with regard to my complaints about the condition that my new Boc arrived in I think that the dealership are going to be taking one almighty sidestep and letting SEAT UK deal with the fallout; he stated that he would be passing all of my comments on, to be honest I don't hold the dealership responsible, yes they should have inspected it prior to collection, but ultimately it's SEAT that built and delivered it.
I'm not going to to let go of this but my only concern now is that I don't have an "in" at SEAT UK to complain to and if I just phone up or email them I'm going to get lost in the ether, any suggestions?
On a brighter note the letter did say that they were expecting the replacement around the 25/04/10, I'll believe it when I see it, and I think I'm going to be taking my Dad along this time, he's a panel beater so I'll let him give the replacement a good going over before I take it anywhere.
