Hi

Just brought my new Leon home.
Its a new brand and car to me but I like it very much.
Its a 2005 with 60000 on the clock.

Just leaving the sellers estate, indicated and found the indicators failed and there was a constant clicking noise from behind the radio!
Went back and they found a fuse blown, replaced that and the indicators now work but there is still the clicking all the time  However they said its a defective relay and they have ordered one to fit next week!
Does this sound right?

Other thing, I have never had ABS so don't know if this is true or not.
Sometimes at low speed when braking I get a juddering in the brake pedal  does not last long and does not happen every time.
The seller said it was the ABS, again can anyone confirm this?
The brakes seem to work fine.

And my last question ;) The radio/CD player has no manual, is there an on-line version for it please?

Thanks

Mike

p.s. I'll post some pics as soon as I am allowed.

 OH no! you think!

No, its a trade sell and I have a three month warrenty on it!

I am taking it to a SEAT dealer Monday next for a free check over and will ask them about it!

I'll also tip off the seller again that I feel a bit unhappy with it.

Thanks

Mike

I personally don't think you should have to do anything with the car for 3 months that's why they give them you, worth about as much as used toilet paper!! Take it back and either tell him to put it right or demand a FULL refund!

YOU should not be doing the running around to get it fixed, they should, customer satisfaction and all!!!!

Hi, yeah I agree with you!

I went for this car (which for me was right at the far end of what I could afford) as I wanted something that would not need any mucking about with!
I have been having a terrible few years what with my wife passing away and now my mum days away from the same thing.
Needed a reliable solid car and really thought this was it.
Gutted to be having problems already [:@]

I have been searching other threads here and see that it is a problem that comes up from time to time.
The low speed and while turning seems to be common.
The dealer is some 40 miles from me so its going to be a real pain taking it back and of course I need to be mobile ready to respond if I get the call from the hospice about mum!

Fed up, really I am.

The clicking is the indicator relay mine does it it's normal.

Thanks for that, hey your car looks a lot like mine :)

I have that manual but it does not give any instructions for the radio CD player, that is what I am looking for?

It has a CD6 button on it, when I press it, it comes up with 'changer' but does nothing else.
Is this a multi CD player or just one disc at a time?

Thanks

Mike

You just have a sleeve there then, on the left side of the glovebox?

It's been removed, can easily replace it, although most just change the headunit.

Sorry I don't know what that is :-( wish I could put up links so i could show you a pic, would be much simpler.
Think this is my 10th post so just 5 to go LOL

It's just an hollow sleeve to make more use of the glovebox.

Clicking will either need a new hazard switch (which contains the relay for the indicators) or a new indicator stalk; hazard switch is cheaper although if you're getting it done under warranty I'd push for getting both done anyway. When I had that problem it didn't seem to affect the indicators, I drove round with it like that for a few months in total and the worst that happened was that it drove me nuts, they didn't stop working.

Thanks, the seller is getting me a new relay, the chap there is a Seat Leon fan so seems to know his stuff :)
Should be fitting it next week some time.

Took it for a short spin today but can't get the brakes to make that noise/feeling again?
Looking at the manual it does say this can occur but usually when one wheel turns too slow!
Wonder if that is why it happens when I turn into my drive?

I've never noticed my ABS coming on going onto my drive, and due to cars parking on the road right opposite it's often a fairly tight reverse turn. However I dunno without thinking whether I actually use the brakes until I've straightened the wheels as my drive slopes upwards as you reverse onto it so there's probably no need to brake until I'm about to reverse into the house...

Never noticed it in other tight turns in carparks etc though.

Nice enough looking car, once you've got the niggles sorted I'm sure you'll be more than happy :) fuel filler cap's not quite shut though by the looks, should probably get that checked out too ;)

Thanks, yeah the cap was my fault  Did not shut it properly.
I agree, get the niggles done and I think I'll be very happy.

Hi again

Well I have now done 140 miles in my new car and feel I have blended with her a bit more now.
Saturday I was out and about and not once did I get the brake issue.
Today Sunday I nipped over to the nursing home where my mum is and only once did I get the grindy, jiggly brake pedal.
It seems to go down more when it does it, but I don't lose brakes or anything.
Then, on the way home again at low speed it did it once more.

I tried a hard brake from speed to see what the car was like and I could not fault it at all!

Wonder what it could be?

Anyway, I have my free check over at my local SEAT dealer/service garage tomorrow so I'll see what they say.

Cheers
