I only get a rub ever so often when I hit a larger than normal bump, even with a car full and I'm on 19's.

but 18s are fine??????????? as they come on fr / cupra? so fitting them to another model wouldnt be a problem? ie mk2 leon 06 plate?

Yes, both the CK's and the new CH's are both 18x8J

18's are fine, as long as you stick as close to the stock offset as possible.

to dig up an ancient thread.. In my first post.

I'm trying to buy 8.5j 18" Borbet(CC) wheels. They are only available in et40 and et50. Borbet suggests et40 with 225 or et50 with 215 tires. I found some other posts of you, in which you had fitted the 8.5j. What would you recommend on a standard Fr.

et50 does this rub against the springs?
et40 does this rub against the fender?

Tristen - that looks great what wheel and tyre size are you running?




Not really a smaller tyre will stretch slightly to give more room under the arch. Giving that extra clearance will help fit the wheels I want to fit. 215 is not even very stretched on a 8J wheel.

215's on a 8.5J wheel -

so 215 on a 8J wheel is/will be fine but will give you that little extra clearance I just need to know where the wheel will sit with an ET/offset of ET38-42.
