Seat leon tdi fr mk2 engine light come on help?

Bit worried about this what can it be? Car seems to have loss of power from 3rd onwards. Like it's not letting all the power through. Does not seem to be the dpf as the light has nit come on.

Is it safe to drive with this as I need to get home?

Just the eml light no dpf light. No way if getting rid of it myself? Will this cost me?

No I dont have any warranty left ran out in december but never had it done this before.

After driving some more the dpf light did come on now I went to 3000rpm in 3rd gear for about 2 mins now the dpf light has gone off but the eml light has stayed on. However there is not more juddering or loss of power. The power seems to be back and is idling at 0.75rpm again. Was at 1000rpm

Sounds like a common DPF / Sensor fault.

I (plus others) had very similar symptoms recently, with the Engine Management light coming on first, then having the DPF light coming on a little while later. Best get it into SEAT to check VAG.COM diagnostics on your car. The fact that you successfully did a DPF regen is a positive start.

Absolutely, it does become a hastle when you really require your car as your main transport for work.
Turned out to be a DPF Sensor fault. The defective sensor was replaced, all is ok again now.

The fact that you successfully regenerated your DPF, the repair bill should be minimal.
Will probably end up being a sensor fault (as most of ours appears to be the case), which will simply be replaced with a new item. Same day fix.

Yeh, this sounds like what happened to me. DPF pressure sensor. I kept on driving it as they could not book me in for a week, and I have no other form of transport. The light eventually went off on its own, but still took it in.

I initially had a loss of power, but only because it was regening for ages.

Get the DPF Delete, they map these sensors out!

From memory, I think it is around £150, but that will vary from dealer to dealer. Probably try a VAG independent enthusiast? Could be cheaper.

The gamble you would be playing is assuming that it is the DPF sensor. The light that came on can relate to many, many issues with your engine and related parts, the fact that you had issues with power, higher idle speed and another DPF light suggests that it more than likely is, although it could be a coincidence and something else is wrong.

...yes, specifically, the worksheet states the "DPF Pressure Sensor" was replaced.

SEAT said to me as long as the car felt the same, and didnt experience any side effects while the light was on, probably will be fine to drive).

Dont forget to ask for a courtesy car, then you can still have access to a car to get to work on that day.

It's only if the car goes into Limp mode, running reduced power, when you will find it probably best not to drive it for safety reasons (limted revs, slower to overtake, slow to pull out at junctions/roundabouts).

So far it's not limping anymore but will be driving home at 6pm so can test again later. I have got a independent specialist just down the road so will try then first so it's more than likely a dpf pressure sensor?

Getting the dpf sounds good but has the group buy gone now? Where can you get it done?

I believe its only JBS who offer this now, although I may be wrong. Give them a call and see what their best price is, you never know! They did also say that they will be running another one in the future!

Yes it sounds like you have suffered that. You really want to get that known though, as if it's not there could be something else that could be getting damaged. I'd put money on it being the Pressure Sensor though.

Kept getting sensors replaced by Liverpool SEAT and a week later it would be the same. Took it to IMG & they replaced a fuse & wiring loom and touch wood i havent had a problem since. I havent even had the DPF light on

Didnt CustomCode also have a special de-DPF + Remap at one point?
I understood theirs worked very well and didnt bring up any random dash engine lights (as the sensors were then being bypassed), unlike one other Tuner that did!
