MPG for those with DPF deleted FRs

managed 40.9 on the way home from work today, 2 miles through the town and 10 on the motorway, at 60mph, a bit better, but still way off what jbs say you should have
On the way to work this morning i pressed the reset when i got on the motorway, average went up to 67mpg for about a mile, wish it was like that all the time
Do you think if they moved the boost nearer to 2000rpm you would get better mpg, ie- the boost comes in at approx 1500rpm, if you are in 6th gear doing 70mph you are always running on boost which will always use more fuel and will account for the fierce acceleration as soon as you touch the pedal?

Just done a little test. Motorway driving, 70MPH. And here is what I got over 13 miles

I put it to zero before setting off. And this was 13 miles of motorway driving at a steady 70. Was easy to get this. Could have got more if i was going slower...

yeah i think i could get this too. The instant mpg at 70mph is quite good, it can be well into the 60s. Mine is doing about 42+mpg doing mixed driving atm.

This was after a 43.7 mile round trip. 70% dual carriage way, 30% town driving

I'm fairly happy considering the power of the car, and in some areas i did hit 80mph. So, i could definitely got better mpg.

Later on, i made a short trip to shops and this was the mileage to refuel:

I have only ever seen this once, before the dpf-delete. And it was only for a minute.

I'm pretty pleased so far, considering the power available. I've found redlining the engine underload a couple of times makes the car drive a little smoother after long periods of normal driving.

Now, just to wait for the proper long distance test sometime during the middle of the week.

Looking good chan!!!! i went up to perth on thursday up the a77 and including the 40mph speed cameras and no gunning managed 45.1 at 75-80!!! Noticing with the weather a bit warmer the mpg seems to be going up a tad

Unfortunatly at this very second me and my missus are about to go and watch remember me! At the Perth showhouse about 20 miles away! And i am registering 10 miles in my tank Nearest station is the BP on the outskirts of perth about 18 miles away lol!!! Will i make it!!!!?

you should, a lot of guys got more than 20 miles when it goes to zero. Fingers crossed

I'm not entirely sure about when the next meet is, but it was funny to see a diesel majority.

That's good going i only get 400 ish out of a tank standard

480 miles means your getting around 40MPG for that tank of fuel. I am doing around 30k a year now so theres a lot of motorway mileage on a tank. TBH the light probably comes on at 450-460, and I regularly test the 0 miles left on the range. Refuse to pay the rip off prices at motorway fuel stations!

NickP - I know you do, but you are on the AMD map so there could be differences between yours and a JBS one? I have seen 600 once, in France, but I was also getting 54.8MPG stock! Mind you, 90KPH, in 6th gear was boring!

I been doing some sums, It i can keep the mpg at about 47+mpg on a fuel tank i'd get at least 560miles out of a tanks. 47mpg isn't actually that hard to get as i found out today. I was driving carefully, but i did have some fun.

I wonder if the AMD throttle mapping is more progressive.

My target is 50+mpg and i think i can easily do that if i had a longer enough run on a motorway. Todays run was not the smoothest to get a good economy run as even on the dual carriageway there was a roundabout halfway through. I did see close to 49mpg before the stop-starts started to set in. It's looking like a wednesday before i do the long trip. Currently looking at edinburgh to newcastle and back

For the record: I'm running on BP ultimate diesel with a splash of millar's.

So have I, standard.

If my DPF is shagged and it's not just a sensor I could be tempted to off it. Depending on what SEAT charge.

30 mile trip for me monday to friday. Lets say between 65 70mph way there i get between 40mpg to 45mpg way back rougley the same.

This is with out the dpf delete.

Probley gonna have to save some coin for this dpf delete business me thinks lol.

But my figures are ok to say i have not modded this car yet.
